On hot sunny days, we recommend testing furniture temperature with the back of your hand to make sure it's safe to sit on. While it's true that our lumber is low maintenance and all-weather, it's important to keep in mind that if general care and maintenance is not done at all, mold and mildew could appear on the lumber. To prevent this from happening, we highly recommend applying warm, soapy water with a soft bristle brush to agitate dirt and grime from the surface. For tougher stains, a 1:1 solution of water and bleach can also be used. If you have access to a pressure washer, that can also be effective as long as it doesn't exceed 1500psi. By following these basic maintenance tips, you can ensure that your POLYWOOD lumber stays in top condition for years to come!
