I purchased this for my 7th grader who needs to carry all of her books, a lunch and a Chromebook to school every day. This is just right, with a separate spot to protect the laptop. It has just enough room for all of her books and supplies and she says it is pretty comfortable. The quality looks good. It should hold up for a while. Her last Landsend backpack lasted 4 years and is still in great shape. I wash the backpacks every few months and hang them to dry. They still look great.

My granddaughter is THRILLED with this backpack! It matches a set of leggings I got her last Christmas that she also adores (and has grown out of but will NOT relinquish - please bring them back?). Her mom loves it for the laptop space and the roomy areas that also allow for plenty of other items.

"It's awesome" says my child. We love it. It holds a lot and is still comfortable to wear. We got the multi-colored one and it looks better in person.

I am surprised by how many reviews say the handle has broken on these backpacks. I just came on to order one for my kindergartner in the fall. We do the large bag because once winter hits they have enough space for snow gear, Shoes, lunchbox and so on. My 2 older kids a have these bags and they still look brand new after using them for 2 years daily during the school year. Hopefully we get lucky with the 3rd backpack.

My kid loves this back pack and it's held up well to the daily use and classroom abuse, but the top handle broke with less than a year's use, meaning we cannot hang it up off the floor (so it's taking a new level of beating). Disappointing it wasn't better reinforced.

I bought this before the beginning of the school year. Space is great, pattern is fun HOWEVER, bottom of the strap broke after third use. Not tough enough for what he needs to carry daily. All kids this age carry reasonable amount of workbooks/books, computer, lunch, gym clothes, and snacks --- it cannot handle the load! Looks good, didn't hold up with normal weight for a middle schooler.

I purchased the tech bag for my middle schoolers 22-23 school year. It’s January and the handle has broken. I’ve never purchased a backpack that didn’t last at least a year…

Very disappointed, the top handle came loose fairly quick. The fabric is now separating from the zipper. I bought a new backpack in July and it didn't make it to January. My brother had his backpack for a decade but that was 15 years ago. Quality is definitely diminished.

I bought this backpack for the 2022/2023 school year. My son is in 5th grade. He carries a Chromebook, his lunch, folders and notebooks back and forth to school and home everyday. Everything just fits. In November the carrying/hanging strap ripped from the seam. He has to hang his backpack in the classroom. When I tried to get a replacement Land's End wanted me to send the backpack back to them for a merchandise credit. I have been buying backpacks for over 17 years for my older children from Land's End. This was the first year that I have ever had any issues with the quality.

Not as Big as I hoped

If you have an older child who carries a laptop, binder and any books, please save yourself the time, money, etc, and go directly to the extra large size of this bag. I thought the large size would be sufficient for 5th grade but with a laptop and large binder my son cannot fit books in the bag. Or maybe only 1 or 2 small books, but certainly not all he needs for busy homework nights and weekends. The extra large has an extra pocket and the main compartment is bigger, making it a much better bag in our opinion.

I'm disappointed in the quality of this bag. Most frustratingly, the bag has two right shoulder straps, making it uncomfortable and unstable to try to wear. The sewing is haphazard, often crooked or bunched. The plastic hardware is flimsy. The main compartment has no liner layer, just the layer of printed fabric; this wouldnt be a problem, but the printed fabric is much thinner than it should be for a structural material. The webbing straps are the lowest quality they could get away with. The waterbottle pockets aren't even as big as advertised. The best use I'll get from this bag is cannibalizing it for what materials are worth salvaging.

Top strap handle broke within 2 days. Got a replacement. Exact same thing happened - top strap broke out of seam within 2 days. We like the backpack and it’s size so getting another replacement and I’ll try to reinforce strap myself.

I am very disappointed with the quality of the book bag handle. It did not have much in the bookbag and it broke after 4 days of use.
