I am now in the process of returning my 2nd bag due to the straps breaking. I returned one that was starting to tear in the shoulder straps, and my son just started using the new bag 2 weeks ago and the strap completely ripped off today while he was in school

Started off as a great pack for my 5th grader, but the strap fully tore from the bag as he was getting out of the car last week. Returning

Poor quality. I'm suprised Lands End sells this flimsy backpack. It's listed as about sixty and its barely worth twenty.

This backpack is not working for my 8th grader. It does not have all the pockets and organization that he needs. In fact, he hates it so much, he refuses to use it. He does not like that the only place to attach the lunchbox is off to the side and lower. We are very disappointed. I do not think I can return it anymore as it has been a month or two.

I bought this backpack for my son who just started 9th grade. He loves it. It's comfortable for him to carry, spacious and protects his laptop well. Unfortunately, the top loop handle broke after just 6 weeks of use. In contrast, his previous Lands' End backpack lasted 3 years. These new ones just aren't as durable.

We bought this bag this summer, and only started using it last week for the first week at school. Nothing too heavy--chromebook, 2 binders, pencil bag, 3 spiral notebooks, calculator. It's not like he filled it with rocks, but the upper handle at the top broke within the first two days of the school year! As much as I hate having to purchase a backpack every year, it is becoming the norm (my own high school backpack is still being used by my other son---25+ years later!).

Purchased this for my high school student. It was a great size and perfect for his laptop, etc. for school. HOWEVER, the top loop tore completely off on the first day of use. Very disappointed in the quality. Because we had it monogrammed, cannot return it. I have been a long-time Lands End customer and am sorry to see quality decline. Will not purchase again.

Water bottle pockets too small!

Backpack is great, except the water bottle pockets are only big enough to hold a Dasani water bottle or skinnier. Every refillable water bottle I’ve tried is too wide to fit in the pocket. Backpack I bought a couple years prior could accommodate a Nalgene water bottle. Please make the pockets bigger in the future!

Appearance looks great but stitching not great

The backpack looks great but within first week of use the handle stitching has come loose. I hope the rest of stitching of bag holds up throughout the year. The last Lands End backpack I bought for my daughter lasted 3 years and it still looks great - she just wanted a more mature backpack for middle school. Little disappointed since she is not hard on her school bag and takes great care of her personal belongings.

This is a kids backpack but too small for a highschooler it could be roomier. While the construction is good it needs more room or expandability.

Our 5th graders have to carry chromebooks plus a toolbox of art supplies, and several binders and books. This backpack is hands down the best backpack for the job. It has its own zippered slot that for the chromebook. (That's a unicorn feature. So hard to find.) Then the large spacious middle pouch fits the bulky books and art supplies. It has structure without feeling stiff or boxy. It's sturdy, made with quality materials, and 1/2 the price of some other tech backpacks out there. My son loves it. Only one complaint. My daughter wants one, but these only come in two colors. She wishes there was a cream or dusty pink solid color option.

We had purchased a back pack for our son that would be durable and that he would be able to use for many years. We are happy with our purchase and glad that we are able to protect the chromebook he needs to carry with him daily.

I bought this for my son (8 years). A few years ago I had purchased the older style tech back pack for my daughter (then 8 years, now 10); it's still a great backpack for her needs. The features needed for my son were: room for a Chromebook in a neoprene case, room for notebooks and folder, room for small personal items like house key, lip balm, water bottle. I like the placement of the pockets, the side mesh pockets for water bottles, and the chest clip. I like that this bag is 'grown up' for an older elementary student, but fits him better than an adult backpack. The biggest downside is the lack of integrated reflective strips. In European countries like Germany where school age kids have the responsibility and independence to walk themselves to and from school or a bus stop, the law requires at least 10% of the surface area to be reflective. Please, add more sewn in reflective strips that are viewable from any angle... the only tiny strips are on the front of the straps, near the chest. That means that the current style lacks any reflectivity on the back and sides (exactly where it is hard to see a vehicle coming at you!). Even if just one more strip was added along the seam near the small phone pocket, that would greatly improve this backpack. In the winter in Chicagoland, it's quite dark in the morning and the afternoon when kids are walking home from school or the bus stop. Please help make kids more visible to traffic. I added photos showing the tiny strips on the chest straps (came sewn into the backpack), and the Lightweights iron-on reflective strips I added to the back/sides. I tried to place them in places where the gray reflective strips would blend into the design during the day yet show up well to a driver.
