I have a couple of these tote bags from Lands End that I love. This new bag looks as good but the canvas is not as thick or as rigid as my old one. Not as sturdy feeling as before. Had I known this I probably would not have ordered. I had it personalized for a gift so cannot return.

Medium is too small, measurements are misleading

The bag is really nice, but because the side seams are just a single seam, the length when nothing is in it and it's laying flat, is longer than when you open the bag and put something in it. The 17" length of the medium becomes 14" when you're loading it. And incidentally, it's not quite 17" long flat, either. I measured a paper shopping bag I used over and over again last summer and I ordered the Lands End medium bag based on that. But the paper bag holds more because there are two side folds ("seams") instead of one. I recommend ordering the large if you want to put a substantial amount of clothes in it. I ordered the striped handle which is really nice and it doesn't come in large. Lands' End should make it in all sizes, I think it's nicer than the solid colored straps.

I absolutely love these bags, however spot cleaning can't take of all disasters. After a couple of years using these for groceries or traveling. They got dirty and couldn't be cleaned properly. So I washed them on gentle wash. I hung to dry. They became hard as a rock. I still use them, but they are not pliable. 😌

Gorgeous colors!!! I have purchased over a dozen of the medium size canvas tote bags in the bright beach colors that scream summer. The totes are very well constructed, come in a variety of beautiful colors and are lightweight. Very classy tote that can be worn on the arm or as a large clutch for a casual lunch with friends. Love, love, love this tote especially when it’s on sale for a great price.

Beautiful, fun, sturdy. Carries a day's worth of books, snacks and drinks for a day vacation or visit to the hospital. I added the llama embroidery and it goes with the turquoise trim perfectly.
