Lands' End Women's Mini Swim Skirt

I bought this because I like to wear swim skirts (for reasons), and love the Lavender Fusion color. I ordered the size 12 based on the fit of a size 14 I had ordered in a different color. I noticed the size 14 came up to my proper waist, well above my bellybutton. I thought maybe it was because it was a size too big. I wanted one in this color, too, so I ordered in a size 12 this time. The size 12 also comes up almost to my waist, again well above my bellybutton, and I can hardly tell any difference in the fit between the 12 and the 14. Maybe the 12 might be a little snugger, but TBH, the size 12 and 14 don't look or feel that different. The skirt seems comfortable and well-made. I would say, order the size you think you need, based on the size chart, realizing that the waistband may come higher than modern low-rise swim bottoms. The fit and styling is fine for me, because, being a more mature woman, I'm pairing these with tankini tops, so I wasn't really looking to show much, if any, midriff. However, if you are looking for a low-rise swim skirt that hits below the belly button, this isn't it. I would suggest that Lands' End consider keeping this skirt in the lineup, for those who are looking for more coverage, but add back in a shorter, low-rise mini swimskirt with a side slit, as other reviewers have requested. (At one time, I would have been among those requesting that.) I rated this 4 stars, based on the unexpectedly high waistband.

I’m so sad you changed this product! I loved the old style with the wider waistband - it laid so nice and flat and did not dig in. This new style is not at all flattering to me. I have bought these many times over the years and am so so sad to not be able to get the size 8 in the older style with the wider waistband and slit - was a PERFECT bottom.

Compared to last year and prior lands end purchases the sewing would flunk home economics class. It's awful. Not a step down in quality. A REAL 180 on quality. I returned the top takini but will keep the bottoms. I don't expect them to last till September!

I ended up returning the skirt, but not because it didn't fit, or because I didn't like it. I simply decided that I'd rather have more coverage as I'm over 60. But it fit well, was attractive and I would recommend it.

Cute design but the elastic is so tight on the legs. It’s so uncomfortable and unwearable.

I love the color but the fit is aweful. very tight around the legs. Took it on vacation so didn't have many options. Can this be returned?

Please bring back the old mini swim mini! I'm on the petite side and have a short torso. This design comes up way too high and is way too long. The old mini swim mini was perfect.

I purchased these bottoms to replace some very well-loved ones that can no longer be worn in public because of fading. They're 10 years old...enough said. And those were the replacement for others that were well-loved and faded over the years. When you find a good product, you stick with it!!!

Purchased size 14 and it fits true to size. I miss the Mini Swim Mini, it was perfect. It comes under the heading of "If it isn't broken, don't fix it."

Purchased in the same size as the 3” shorts; totally too small. Should fit the same?

Please bring back the old mini swim mini with the slit on the side. I have several of them and they are the perfect length. This new swim mini style is too long and not as flattering.

I have not worn it yet, but it’s very flattering and the material is very nice.

Nothing compares to the old swim mini with the little slit on the leg - so cute, comfy and stylish. Not a fan of the new style.

Not “mini” enough. Please bring back the “mini swim mini!” I have been wearing the “mini swim mini” for years and it was discontinued! Ugh! I have several still thankfully and will be having the elastic that finally gave out on my favorite color replacement by a local seamstress. I love my minis!

This is a very attractive swim skirt. It fits well provides me with the coverage I was looking for. I would recommend this item to others.
