I now have three pairs of this short and I'm pretty satisfied. The fabric is substantial and holds up well in washing. I think it's a little long in the crotch, but I concede that it's my body that's short in the crotch; wearable, nevertheless. I'm also happy that they have full pockets.

I got the chambray last year when I wasn't sure what size I was. Just bought 2 more and getting white today. They stay up due to the elastic waist...lots of shorts stretch out and bag. Nice heavy cotton. If you wear a top on the outside, no one will ever know they have an elastic waist. Very slimming!

Strong, substantial fabric (might be a bit warm for some), roomy seat, waist is a bit snug, enough "belly room" in front for 39" hips, 142 lbs, 5'3. Washes great, no fade, no wrinkles, no ironing needed.

Even though I read the reviews which described the shorts being wide, I decided to take a chance on them based on the quality and fit of the 7" shorts I ordered last summer. Well, these were not only too wide in the legs but more like culottes. Most definitely not something I was willing to try to fix, so I'll be returning them. The price and the quality of the fabric is good, but that is about the only thing these 10" shorts have going for them.

Nice shorts. The fabric is heavy, though, so they might be a bit warm on a hot day. I am short waisted and thick though the middle. But there is enough elastic so they fit well.

I bought a pair of these 7" and also the 10" shorts. I'm petite, apple-shaped and they fit great! Just what I needed for knocking around the house and look good enough with overbloused top to wear around town as well!

I'm normally not a fan of patterned bottoms (PJs excepted), but these shorts in black & white look expensive and fit well. I've tried them with a solid black T and white sweater and the look is quite sophisticated. P.S. They also work as golf shorts.

These shorts fit well and are the perfect length for a petite woman of mature years, just above the knee. The color is a much nicer shade of dark blue than the True Navy Lands End has been selling for years and the fabric is soft and comfortable. However they come out of the dryer wrinkled especially around the leg opening. Many people do not like ironing especially in the Summer. Luckily, I did not buy these shorts for wearing all the time but for when I need to wear something nicer than my around the house denim shorts.

Preferred several pairs of shorts disappointingly ALL were too short i.e above my knee but worse than that they are much to wide in the leg . Poor design. The material is too heavy for summer wear .

I really like these shorts, the pockets are a great feature too. The print gives you a lot of options for many different solid color tops. One thing to note is that they are looser fitting on the legs than shown in the picture. However, that may be because I order a size big enough to be comfortable around my waist, I have the "apple" shape, so my legs are not where the weight is. So maybe they would fit differently on some one differently proportioned. I still love them a lot, the fabric is also comfortable.

Lands' End offer the best fitting all cotton shorts. The 10 inch Bermuda shorts fit me the best at the right length above the knee. Since they are cotton, they are cool and comfortable. So far they are holding up to wash and wear without fading or shrinking!
