    I have some old LE pointelle silk thermals that are still good however these pants have a waist band that is very uncomfortable and the ankles roll up. I do hope next winter LE will introduce a different silk product. These are otherwise perfect.

    Wear-Altering Shrinkage When Laundered

    The fabric is heavenly, and the pink color is yummy. Unfortunately when I washed them in cold water, delicate cycle, in a net bag, and line dried them they shrunk about 6 inches. The once ankle length trousers now reach my lower calf. This is really annoying because I can no longer anchor the hem by tucking it into my sock, and the leg rides up to my knee when I put my trousers on. They are not suited for purpose, and I really wish that I could return them. I consider this item defective due to the large amount of shrinkage.

    Purchased both top and bottom xl petite. 4'9" 150#. Warm, fits well, not too loose, and not too tight. Length is perfect. Thin able to layer beneath outer outfit. Washer and dryer.

    I have purchased these silk long johns for many, many years however when you changed the design from cuffs at the ankle to the obviously lesser quality without the cuffs, this change made it made it very uncomfortable and impossible to wear without them creeping up to my knees. The weight of the silk is not as it was at all and for the price, which has nearly double that of the old style.

    Ruined by thick waistband and no cuffs

    I have been buying Land's End silk thermals for more years than I can remember. But several years ago, they redesigned them, to add a thick (2") elastic waistband and remove the cuffs on the legs. They ruined them! Now the legs ride up, and the thick waistband makes me look much heavier than I am. The elastic also cuts through the silk after several washings. I bought the men's for a while (nobody noticed the fly but me), but then they added a thick waistband to them also. LAND'S END, YOU HAVE SPOILED A PERFECTLY DESIGNED PRODUCT, AND FROM THE REVIEWS, I AM NOT ALONE IN HAVING THIS OPINION.

    So very lightweight and, well, silky! They make my pants more comfortable and are great for adding an extra layer under lightweight pants when traveling on an airplane. I've even considered wearing two pairs of the silk leggings under pants. The wide waistband is very comfortable. No shrinkage when washed, though instructions require you hang dry these. The 2P size was true to size.

    This product was a total disappointment. . The fabric is very thin, velcro on ski pants and jacket is the kiss of death. Sticks to this thin fabric and can rip holes easily. Bought Christmas presents for Grandkids to take skiing in Vale and Breckinridge, Colorado. Thank goodness they had backups. Recommend you spend your money on something else more reliable.

    The weight and design of the waist band are comfortable. The flaw is the design of the hems. Other brands have a ribbed bottom which stay in place. This Lands End design rides up and the pants leg will not stay put. This leads to the legs moving around, twisting and becoming uncomfortable.

    These are high quality silk long underwear, much better than others I have owned. However, they run very very small. I always wear a XS or S from Lands End, but the small in these end at mid-calf, they are like capris. The rest of the fit is fine, they are just far too short.

    Leaving the same review for the bottoms - Would have given this 5 stars except for the lack of cuffs. Why do the men's pieces get both sleeve and ankle cuffs and the women's get subpar design?! Lack of cuff causes arms and legs to creep up. Land's End - please listen to your customer comments and bring back the cuffs.

    i have purchased these long underwear bottoms for years. they used to be wonderful! in recent years they were changed such that they hike up your legs, leaving the calf unprotected (and hence COLD!). purchase these if you don't mind them riding up toward your knees! LANDS END: LOOK AT THE VOLUME OF NEGATIVE COMMENTS BY LOYAL CUSTOMERS ABOUT THE REMOVAL OF THE BAND AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LEG THAT HOLDS IT DOWN.     The bottoms of this long underwear ride all the way up my calves every time I wear them. I haven't been able to bring myself to get rid of them because they weren't cheap, but I would not recommend them to anyone.
