Lands' End Women's Starfish Mid Rise Knit Denim Straight Jeans

I bought these pants and thought by now Lands End would have solved the problem of the terrible chemical smell….but no. I have washed these pants (on their own, so the smell won’t spread to other clothes) 6 times. They fit well but I’m not sure they are worth the effort

Was excited to get this. Right size. Did the hemming it required and then discovered the elastic in the waistband was shot, as the pants fell off, giving them away.

I've LOVED the comfort and fit of these Starfish Jeans since my first pair a few years ago. They still snag easily, but the fabric seems more durable than the earlier ones.

very happy with the style and fit. may order another color, or two. especially if they go on sale.

I bought these jeans about a month ago and I love them!! They are so soft and comfortable They do run very long in length though.

I bought this in December and I loved the color, but the fit was not for me.

Not great. They have a flare so they are not straight leg jeans. And they are too long! I wear Landsend petite all the time and these are long.

Nice fabric, but the pant legs are way too long and the waist is a bit too big. I am 5’2 and weigh 110 lbs. I ordered a size 4P.

I have 2 other pairs that are perfect. This pair came quickly and fits as expected (so comfy and stretchy), but came with a horrible chemical smell. I figured it was because it was new but I have washed them 3 times and the smell is still there...

These jeans are so soft and comfortable while still looking like jeans. For me they still were long even though I got the Petite. I’m 5’ and bought a large and needed to get them hemmed. I even ordered a second pair.

Just wish they were made of the same fabric as before. More like real denim.

These arrived with an awful smell like mothballs. I washed them and the smell didn't go aways so I washed them again. The smell wasn't diminished at all and made the entire closet smell! After some research, I tried hanging them outside in the sun, then washing in vinegar, then soaking in vinegar for 24 hours and washing again. Still no change. I then soaked them for 24 hours in baking soda (almost a full box) and washed them again. The smell seems to have diminished, but I purchased them for temporary wear while recovering from surgery, and I no longer need them; never got to wear them. I purchased a darker version that did not have this issue.

Love the fit and look of these. Very comfortable. The only negative is the smell (barn like), which seems to lessen with each washing.

Love then , but way too long for a petite. I'll have to pay to have them hemmed. The length vary greatly for petites, depending on the size

Love these jeans! They are so comfortable and soft. Great fit & they even have front pockets. Wash & dry beautifully. So happy I found them.

They are the most comfortable pants that I’ve owned in a long time. They stretch so think about ordering one size down

Haven’t worn these yet because I needed to hem them. SO long for petite!

The good news is the material is comfortable. I’ve never had any other Starfish pants, so cannot comment on changes from previous models. I’m 5’2”, and size 18P. The petite was still a bit long, but not unusable in length. The material is more yoga pant-like than jeans-like. The pants had several snags by the end of first wearing because I wore them as I normally would jeans around jumping dogs, picking up sticks, carrying cardboard boxes, etc… if you put them on, and sat in office, or taught school (using no objects that could snag them) they are very comfortable. I did not have the smell or sagging issues that others complain of. Comfortable for travel if you’re not dragging a suitcase off a conveyor belt and snag them.

I like the fit but after soaking & several washings, the fabric has a strange odor that remains & I cannot wear these jeans! ☹️
