Lands' End Women's Outerwear Expedition Down Waterproof Winter Parka

Awesome parka! Adjustable and all! But the hood though! I live in Alaska and we need a hood that actually covers our heads and blocks blowing snow! It needs to be able to hold our heads with a hat! I am so disappointed in that that it cost you TWO stars!

I have the older version of this coat from like 5 years ago. Love it. It’s still going strong but I wanted an update. This one is great I feel like it’s warmer with the added Sherpa elements. But it doesn’t have as much shaping at the waist which I don’t like and it looks cheaper. Like the zippers and such. Overall I love this coat so I’ll continue to buy. But I wish the old style was still around. I also got a large and I’m 5’2 170 pounds o probably could have gotten away with a M. The large is a tad bit but will be good for layering.

I literally bought this about 2 months ago and love it. I wish Lands' End would make this into a VEST as well! It's stylish and warm. I live in the NYC area and this makes walking my dog in the freezing temps easier. Need to order him the doggie version as well!

I purchased this coat about a month ago. With below 0 temps, I have been warm as toast in my new coat. The workmanship is beautiful.

Perfect coat for the cold! Lots of pockets, fits perfectly with room for sweater underneath (I bought small and I’m 5’3, 118 lbs) Extremely happy with this purchase!

I got this coat in a tall in the light periwinkle, and I've had a few compliments. It's fairly warm when it's really cold outside. But I still need two layer it. I'm in the Northeast and it gets bitter and windy here. My only complaints are, that it is very straight cut, and it doesn't give you a lot of hip room. The other issue is the coat farts! Yes, I said it farts! Every time I wear it and I go to sit down, whether it's in my car or the embarrassing fact that I sat down in the doctor's office in the waiting room and the coat farted again. And the looks you get when someone thinks you're passing gas is embarrassing. It seems to build up pockets of air in the back where the down is. So when you sit, the air is escaping quickly and it lets out a rip!

I ordered this jacket in a 2x. I am 5-10, 270lbs. The body of the jacket is HUGE, way too big even with a thick sweater underneath. The sleeves are VERY short and the shoulders tight. The hood is also exceptionally small. It barely comes to my face and the point of fur is to keep the snow out of your face. I can't wear a tight-fitting beanie underneath the hood. It's got great features and lots of pockets and seems to be warm and I like the cinchable waist feature. The green color is really pretty.

I bought this coat for occasional really cold Texas weather. And while, a great coat and perfect for what I needed it for, I ended up trading out the cheap fur around the hood for a better quality one. This was at my expense, but it looks much better.

I love the fit of this coat and now very snug it feels when I wear it. I get so many compliments on how it looks as well. Soft lining in the pockets is a perk.

I don't think I have ever loved a color this much! The soft periwinkle is absolutely beautiful. It literally speaks to my soul. This coal overall it amazing. I am 5'8, 140lbs and I chose size small. The coat fits me perfectly in all the right places. The sleeves are a great length too. It's super warm and cozy. I did tighten the waist just enough for a slight fitted look. Please get this coat. It's stunning!

I bought this a week ago and assumed that the hood would have a drawstring or some means of holding it on, however, it’s enormous and it falls clear to my nose when I have it pulled up. There needs to be a drawstring in that detachable hood.

I received this as a gift. I am outside at least 5 to 6 hours most days. I was skeptical at first but the coat is warm and fits well except the sleeves could be a little longer. (What is it with short sleeves anymore?) There could be a little more insulation in the upper back. I found that if you are just walking, it's mostly ok, but if you use your arms it pulls and tightens the back and thins the insulation, allowing it to be cold. It keeps out the wind and so far I love it. I also like the length. I have tried MANY other winter coats and so far this is the best. The others have been very warm but so bulky I couldn't move freely. Was pleasantly surprised as it seems quality overall has eroded over the years. Yes, I recommend this parka.

Best winter coat I love this coat. It has EVERYTHING you need, they definitely thought of everything: plenty of pockets, the zipper can unzip from the bottom so when you’re sitting it can give some, I like the snap buttons to quickly snap close if you are just going outside quickly to check the mailbox and don’t want to zip up, insulated pockets and hood to keep your head and hands warm if you step out without gloves and winter hat. We are experiencing our winter snow storm now and it’s kept me very cozy as I play outside with the kids. And I have the forest green color which goes great with my tan complexion.

My kids all wear the LE Expedition coats all winter — they stay warm, dry, and darn it they’re cute! I gained weight and needed a new coat. While this coat is WARM and super comfortable, I don’t love it. The hood is removable, so it unsnaps when I remove a cross-body bag. I would prefer an attached hood — when it’s cold enough to wear this coat I want a hood! I would prefer the fur was removable, because you can’t machine-wash it, which means hand-washing the whole hood, which is dumb. Also, they designed the plus-size with short arms, which is a consistent flaw across manufacturers. I have a long torso but average arm length, and these arms leave my wrists exposed. I would size down for a better overall fit, but I would lose even more arm length, which is, again, dumb in winter. Please, attach the hood and make the fur removable like the kids’ version! Add a couple inches to the sleeves. Then this coat is a winner. For reference, my bust is 48” and hips are 52” and I’m wearing a 2X. I’m generally 20W-22W in most manufacturers.

I bought this jacket last year at the end of the season. And now that i have to use it the insulation on the upper back is poor! It does not warm me up at all.

The back of the jacket at the upper back does not have enough insulation material! It is so thing like there is nothing to protect you from the cold.

I looked long and hard for a warm winter coat and thought this would be perfect. It is warm but it’s just too heavy in weight. I wear a small and the weight of it pulls at my neck and shoulders so I am returning it. Otherwise it is a well made, warm, long and attractive coat.
