Q: Is this good for severely, dry, cracked lips? I'm extremely sick, bedridden for years, I'm dehydrated & a lot of meds don't help. I'm looking for some-thing as fab as Dr Lipp Nipple Balm. Any advic?

submitted by CookieMonster - 8 years ago
  • A: I use this as lip balm and find it to stay on and hydrate better than aquafor.

submitted byAirPodsMom - 7 years ago
  • A: I've never used this for my lips, but I would think it would do the trick. Have you tried aquafor?

    submitted bymotherof1 - 8 years ago
  • A: I use this product on my lips nightly after my shower and it works amazingly for preventing chapped lips! I work outside in the weather a lot and it is a lifesaver. Occasionally, I will apply it again in the morning. I am sure it would help protect them so they could heal if they were already chapped.

Q: Do you have to wash this off before nursing the baby?

submitted by SuziB - 8 years ago
  • A: No. It is safe for baby to nurse after applying it and leaving it on.

    submitted by1derwoman00 - 8 years ago
  • A: No, it's safe for baby.

Q: What is the full ingredients list on this?

submitted by audball - 8 years ago
  • A: The Lansinoh HPA Lanolin is a single ingredient product comprised 100% of Lanolin. It's safe for mom and baby, 100% natural and hypoallergenic. The unique refining process ensures a pure, high-quality product, with no preservatives, parabens, fragrance, or taste. It is recommended to apply the Lanolin after breastfeeding, instead of before, so that it has time to absorb into the skin. The NDC information indicated in a prior response was for Lansinoh's discontinued Diaper Rash Cream, not the HPA Lanolin.

Q: Can I use it if I’m pregnant and the my nipples are sore

submitted by Laura - 2 months ago
  • A: Hi Laura, thank you for your question. Lansinoh Lanolin replenishes the essential lipids of the skin, repairing the skin’s natural barrier function to soothe and protect sore nipples. While our Lanolin can be used while pregnant, it is not designed to heal sore nipples. You can also try our Breast Therapy Packs as well. If you have any other questions or need recommendations on products, please send an email to customerservice@lansinoh.com. Thank you.

Q: does this work if you breastfeed and babie has the thrash? will it help with the thrash on the breast?

submitted by Jane - 2 years ago
  • A: Hello Jane, Thank you for your questions. While Lansinoh Lanolin Nipple Cream is bacteriostatic and won’t promote new growth; it does form a partially occlusive barrier, so it is not recommended that you use lanolin when you have thrush.

Q: How long is usually the expiration date

submitted by Aoha - 5 years ago
  • A: Hello Soha, thank you for your question. Each tube of our Lanolin Nipple Cream is stamped with an expiration date at the crimped end of the tube in the format EXP MM YY. For example, EXP 12 21 would mean that the Lanolin expires in December of 2021. Each tube has a shelf life of 36 months. We hope this helps!

I switched to this after my Aquaphor tube became too runny, and I’ve loved it ever since! I don’t think I’ll go back. This has the perfect consistency and thickness. It’s great for a light layer and works perfectly under lip gloss. Truly a game changer!

Somebody recommended this to be just before I had my son, and I’m so glad! It wasn’t until about 1 month into breastfeeding that I felt I needed it. It’s great for relieving sore nipples. The fact that the ingredients are all natural and there’s no need to remove it before breastfeeding again is amazing. A must-have for any breastfeeding mums.

    Thick and oily but effective

I was desperate for something to relieve the pain from dryness around my nipples while I was pregnant. This cream worked instantly upon application. It is very thick and oily but I guess that’s what it takes to get the job done. I have used this a few times on my lips as well when they have been very dry/chapped. This cream could definitely serve as multi purpose hydration rather than for just nipples. I do wish it was a little less thick. Fresh light scent.

I started using the cream on my sore nipples and a few days later my baby developed thrush infection and I got yeast infection on my nipples. I am not sure if it's related but I stopped using it... couldn't trust it.
1 reply from Lansinoh Team team - 2 months ago
Thank you for taking the time to provide your review. Thrush in babies and yeast infections in mothers are both caused by an overgrowth of the Candida fungus, which naturally lives on both the baby and mom’s bodies. During breastfeeding, the fungus can be transferred between mother and baby, especially if there's an imbalance caused by factors like antibiotics, hormonal changes, or a weakened immune system. For moms, yeast infections can occur on the nipples or breast if the environment becomes too moist or if there are cracks or sore areas, making it easier for Candida to grow. It's important for both mom and baby to be treated simultaneously to prevent reinfection. If you notice symptoms like pain, itching, or white patches, consult with your healthcare provider for guidance and treatment.
