Lansinoh Postpartum Pain Relief Spray with 4% lidocaine - 3.5oz

This is a postpartum godsend. It really helped cut the pain of my stitches and was cooling. Can be applied directly or onto a pad. Plus you got a lot of use out of it for the size. Totally worth it.

This is a must for any postpartum basket in your bathroom! Helps ease the pains after giving birth! A great baby shower gift, too!

This spray works well, but the spray mechanism is like a little jet instead of a softer mist or spray. Considering that the reason I’m using it is postpartum damage, it doesn’t feel good to jet the damage with the relief spray before the relief spray kicks in.

The spray is easy to apply to sensitive areas and provides welcome relief, especially if you have some nagging stitches. The spray has the slightest burning sensation when it comes in contact with the skin and affected area (most likely from the Lidocaine), but that quickly evaporates into a pleasant numbing sensation that soothes pain and irritation. It can be used 3-4 times within 24 hours, which I have found matches the relief time of the spray. Considering this product is gynecologically tested and approved for lactating mothers is a major plus as I don’t want to use anything that could harm me or my new baby. I labored and then needed an emergency cesarean, and I was in considerable pain afterwards. This spray gave me instant relief in perineal areas and even on my bruised and swollen belly (from cesarean surgery). It worked instantly although didn’t last very long (maybe 20 minutes per spray), but then I could reapply as needed. The spray felt cooling and calming on my painful skin. It was wonderful having a pain relief spray that I could trust for post-birth pain because it had been tested for gynecological use. My only criticism is that I wish it had also been tested on breasts because it seems like it would be very helpful for breastfeeding nipple pain. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I received the Pain Relief Spray with 4% Lidocaine as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, I was a bit skeptical that it was super relevant to postpartum recovery. It seemed a little unnecessary with pain relief medication and things like cold packs/padsicles. For a little context, I had an unmedicated birth and did not have tearing (only abrasions), but when I got to use the Pain Relief Spray, it offered a little extra relief, especially in those early days when there is more swelling and the abrasions were more raw. I found that it was easy to apply, and offered quick (almost instant) relief. This made life easier as I adjusted to healing myself, caring for the new baby, and tending to our energetic and active toddler. I don't prefer to be totally numb ,as I want to be able to have sensation/awareness as I heal: this offered relief without feeling like I was disconnected from my body. As I have moved into days five and six of postpartum recovery, it has also provided relief from the later healing when the light itching sensation can settle in. I am glad I tried the Pain Relief Spray with 4% Lidocaine, and will recommend it to new parents as an option to make the postpartum period a little more comfortable! Pros: Easy to use, offers gentle relief, relevant in all stages of recovery/healing. Cons: Requires some attention/memory to stay within the maximum recommended numbers of daily application, make sure you are not allergic to topical anesthetics before using!

I really liked using this lidocaine spray after I had my baby. I had 2nd degree tears and I was in a great deal of pain. I thought the spray was very cooling and helped eased some of the pain. My biggest complaint would be is that it is very hard to spray the bottle upside down. I think it should be in more of a aerosol can so that it sprays more efficiently. I had to mostly spray it on a pad because it was difficult to spray upside down. I felt like once I was able to get my self sprayed where I needed it, the product worked great. Overall it was a great experience and a great postpartum spray. I just wish it had a better sprayer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Okay this spray is awesome! I received it through the Stellar Product Testing Panel and couldn’t be more excited. I’m the type to just use the hospital supplies but this is better than what you’ll get there. I only felt relief with this spray and not the one provided at the hospital. This is a big deal when you’re postpartum and in pain. Relief was immediate and long lasting especially when coupled with an ice pack. The only downfall is the bottle style. You have to spray with it upright when everyone knows that bottle is getting tipped upside to get where it needs to go!

It comes in a small spray bottle which makes it perfect for traveling and stashing in the diaper bag when you’re on the go! I also love that it sprays upside down too….which is much more convenient for reaching those way down stairs areas. I recently delivered my daughter with a 2nd degree tear and this spray has 100% helped with some of the pain that comes with the tear. So much easier than sitting on those ice packs all day! I have tried many similar products, and I found this to work very quickly after application - almost instantaneously. It also helped for quite some time after application and did not wear off. Another great feature is that the spray bottle is made in such a way that it is very easy to apply and the bottle doesn’t need to be pointed in a certain direction to be applied. It's great for pain relief, especially if you pair it with the Lansinoh cold pack. The spray really does work at any angle, even upside down! I found it a little hard to aim the spray in exactly the right spot if I was sitting on the toilet so I found I prefer to stand with one foot on the tub when I apply the spray. I'm glad I was given this lidocaine spray to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

When I began to use this spray, I just delivered my second child vaginally, and had some minor vaginal tearing. I was very pleased with the Lansinoh pain relief spray. The bottle sprayed very well with every use. Upon application, the effects were almost immediate; the spray felt cool and soothing against my skin. The downside of using the spray, is that it only temporarily relieved pain, but cannot be reapplied more than 4 times a day. I did appreciate that it was both dermatologically and gynecologically tested. It gave me the peace of mind that it was a safe product to use. I would absolutely use it postpartum again, and recommend it to family and friends.

I noticed a difference very soon after applying, and I felt very quick pain relief. The spray applied perfectly on all the areas which I have been feeling discomfort and I felt instant gratification. It feels cold when you first apply it, and obviously wet, but it dries quickly and is barely noticeable on your skin.
