Q: Why is this recommended for adult use? Is it a safety/sturdiness issue or is the wood treated with something unsafe for small children (who might put it in their mouth)?

Q: What is the thickness of the slats? Are they 1/2 inches thick? Also are the slats nailed on or stapled on?

I am impressed and surprised by how high quality these wooden crate baskets are for the price point! They look much more expensive. They look fantastic and hold a lot. Used them to dress up bathroom wire rack shelves. I need ti look for some sealant to protect the wood from moisture since I plan to keep them in the bathroom. I am really impressed!!

Beautifully manufactured! No exposed staples and high quality wood. Don't hesitate to purchase these! I bought some wooden crates from another store and decided to return them because of the undeniable poor quality. The Mondo Llama crates are wonderful, sturdy, and very fairly priced. I'm going to add casters and use them for pantry storage.

Sturdy, well built, solid joins, smooth wood, could use it as a stool if I had to, absolutely the most gorgeous wooden crate I have purchased, hands down. I am sourcing crates to use as wall shelving and have purchased from four different popular stores including Target. The others range from "this is clearly made of balsa" to "box of slivers." The Mondo Llama crate is the kind you buy for double the money (or more) from an artisan. Ordered three more, will literally never buy a wooden crate anywhere else again.

I purchased 2 of these crates back in 2021 and was impressed with the quality. I used them as they were and the wood has aged well, and despite a few moves and exposure to different weather conditions they're still holding up great. 2 years later I bought another crate expecting the same quality, but the new ones are made of softer wood and about half an inch smaller. Thinking the first one I received was defective I ordered another to compare, but it was also half an inch smaller. I've only just received this new one and it's already chipping, with one of the planks falling apart. Obviously I'll be returning it. Very disappointing that the quality has gone down.
