Yellow clips break easily

I work in a primary school and the yellow clips that attach the pans to the balance break off very easily. We have about five of the balances that we are unable to use because the yellow clips are broken. I have spoken to Modern Teaching Aids in Australia and the clips don't come as spare parts and we are just out of the 12 month warranty period. Product useless in a school.
