Break easily

Same problem as many others. If you knock re recording button in any way the button resets and then becomes unrecordable. It doesn't matter if you replace batteries, the button is non functional. It still makes the beep to record but no sound will play. I've had about 5 buttons break in the same way and can't justify buying this product anymore

I bought these to use with friends at a Burns' Night quiz. We recorded some Scottish music clips, but i was a little disappointed at the volume and quality of the recording. It is a great idea, but for buzzers loudness is important! We ended up using the normal (non-recordable) buzzers that I had previously bought.

Fortunately I purchased this at a thrift store as I would have been VERY disappointed if I had paid full price, but then I probably would have returned them. It is a fun idea, but the recording was very poor quality, not loud enough and skips.

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that. Not sure how long ago it was purchased previously? If it is not working properly, I would suggest to request an exchange/refund with the original place of purchase.

Perfect for pressing buttons while your dog ignores you

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered these to try to teach my dog to talk. The buttons work exactly as advertised, and they do a great job - when I press them. The dog still can't talk, but that's not the product's fault. ;-)

Early failure

I wish I'd seen these reviews before purchasing -- I had the same issue as many others. The buttons fail, apparently in a predictable way: you get the "beep" of recording but then no sound when you push the button. I even unscrewed my first one that broke in this way, seeing if there was something preventing the button press from activating the internal mechanism (as I'd run into the button top "jamming" in the past and hoped it was that simple). Pressing the internal metal clicker didn't activate it, so there was no way to fix anything. I did notice recording sounded best if you waited half a second between the "beep" and speaking; otherwise, the start of your word got a little cut off. And naturally, speaking loudly into the microphone and then setting the button on a hard surface helps.

Only 3 of the 4 buttons worked. I called to get a replacement and they said they couldn’t help me because this was supplied by a third party- which was never mentioned in the buying process. Super annoying. Better off buying from Amazon.

After receiving these Recordable Answer Buzzers for my boys a couple of weeks ago, they have been using them a lot! It is very simple to record your message or sound, then simply push the buzzer, and it plays the sound. Perfect for family quizzes and games. I love the bright colours and the simplicity of these. They are simple to operate and are loud enough to hear over people talking. We have used these for our own version of X Factor and they have worked well, and have withstood my over excited children pushing them over and over and over again! I think that the only downside I have found to these is that unless you speak clearly when you record your message, it can sound quite muffled when played back, so you must make sure whatever message you record, it does have to be clear. That being said, they have provided a lot of laughs and family time games so have really worked for us.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am using these buttons for my dog to press for various things. They are easy to use for both human and canine folks. They are easy to reprogram which is sometimes an issue when my dog presses it just right. I assume children would figure that out fast and shenanigans might ensue. The speakers are also not the best, but enunciating clearly usually produces a clear enough sound. The colors are fun. Overall a good enough value that i will be purchasing more.

Fun recordable buzzers for all the family

These recordable buzzers are really easy to use so you can quickly start using them get up after popping in a couple of AAA into each one. My two children found them hilarious and they were able to use them independently after they'd been shown and proceeded to have a great time recording various noises! They had a great time tricking the grandparents by recording their names and pressing the buzzer without them noticing. As adults we've used them as additions to quizzes we've played and they became an amusing part of the game. However the downside is the poor sound quality. They provide quite a muffled sound and they feel quite cheaply made. One of our buzzers broke after being used just a handful of times. The recording button simply beeps and doesn't allow anything to be recorded.

Amazing product for my dog. Sadly, they don't last long. Stopped working, one by one... The worst part is that is gladly pay double if they were worth it! You could be making great money on this product! You really should listen to the feedback and remake these. Parents/caregivers of people with special needs as well as animal owners would really love this product. Speaking for myself, I would want about 6-10 buttons!

Some reviews mention that the sound is too low; if you speak very loudly into the microphone, the playback is loud enough. I was using to teach my dog how to ask for certain things, and he has been really enjoying it! However, some of them stopped working after a week or 2 of use, while the others broke after a few months of use. Disappointing, because the recording button still works (beeps when I press it) but nothing happens when I click the button.. New batteries didn't fix the problem. If these keep breaking, they're too expensive to use. I shouldn't have to pay $30-40 per 2 months to keep using them. My dog is sad that he learned to communicate with me, and now he is stuck with trying to communicate with non-verbal cues again (and my dumb human brain can't always understand what he wants). Please figure out what's causing this issue, I am not the only one experiencing this. Please provide guidance to your customers on how to fix it... I would absolutely recommend these buttons IF they were durable enough to use for long enough to justify the cost. I imagine that with my dog's gentle use still breaking the buttons, that a child will also break these buttons in no time.

We just started canine AAC after seeing Christina Hunger's (Hunger for Words) video on Instagram. I was so excited for my buttons, however could only start with 3 words because the green button arrived broken. Izzy is already using the 3 usable buttons intentionally at just 2 days in. Definitely would rate higher if it didn't arrive broken.

The students loved them and I was excited to use them in my classroom. Although the students were instructed to tap them they were too hard on them. They need to be built to withstand the abuse children dish out especially during a competitive setting. I was only able to use them with two and a half classes.

Fun for class games

These buzzers are made with a different color base each. You can record any sound, song, or saying you want up to 7 seconds. It is simple to record, just press the button and hold it down while you play the sound and release. Then the buzzer is ready to be used. Just press the black button on top and the buzzer will sound. These are really light weight and easy to use. I teach high school and used these for a fun jeopardy to review before a test. The students were excited to use the buzzers. They worked great for the game, except I was not able to keep up with which sound was first. It did take a bit to get the sounds loud enough for the buzzers. I was finding sounds on my phone and holding it to the buzzer to record. One problem we had was that when you press the little button on the side the sound will erase. Of course many of my teenagers could not resist pressing it, even when I said not to. That meant I had to stop and re-record the sound. It would be nice to lock in the sound, I could imagine that it would be just as difficult or more so with preschoolers. I received this in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own and not influenced. Please read more here: http://www.arizonamamablog.com/2014/03/learning-resources-recordable-answer.html
