Unfortunately only one of the light bulbs worked.... and one of the attachments for the chain to the big O ring was missing, so I had to tinker with it and use some wire I had.... I am disappointed that I have to now buy an additional light bulb.... The students planted today and I hope that the one bulb will be sufficient... The specifications do not clearly explain what size of a bulb I need... For this much money, I'd hoped for better quality controls.

To get the hood to hang nicely between the posts, I had to wire-tie the power cord to the chain on that side. See the pic I attached for details.

for years i had the larger units of the gardener's supply lights....i loved them...but after 30 years....they were retired....i ended up purchasing the stack and grow as a means of downsizing....but...i do like the metal units...so i got the mini...it is great!

Easy assembly, all parts included, and the light output quite intense. Will be using this to germinate/propagate hot peppers over coming winter months prior to transfer outdoors. After years of encountering unpredictable ambient temp and lighting conditions during winter months, requiring nearly daily indoor/outdoor transfer of my juvenile plants, this unit will be a major time saver, and should definitely result in more vigorous transplants. Glad to learn that the unit (excluding lights) is largely of US origin! The only downside is the somewhat awkward positioning of the interface between the power cord and the lamps/reflector. A minor problem that does not detract from the overall performance of the product.
Poor design, reliability, otherwise ok

I'm very disappointed in the way the lights are suspended. The light shield is attached to the chains at a single point on each side by a clip that freely rotates. That lets the shield fall to one side. The chain should be attached at two points on each side to avoid this problem. Also, the power plug for the lights is right next to the light stand, so it rubs against the stand when raising or lowering the lights, sometimes falling out. Overall, the quality is very cheap and I'm sure there are better designs out there.
You will not be disappointed.

I liked this so much that I ordered a second one. It takes up little counter space and looks so nice. My plants are happy and seed starting is a breeze. Don't give it a second thought, you will be happy you tried this.
Works great!

In view of the pandemic, we were a little concerned things like veggie plants might be difficult to find, so we got this little grow light to start our tomatoes and peppers and it's working great! We have it in our basement, which is pretty chilly, so we also got a heat mat to put underneath it (nothing germinated before we got the mat). Now we're excited that we'll be able to start so many more interesting tomatoes that are difficult to find as plants. I wouldn't say it's a money saver at this point - but hopefully it adds up in the long run.

Have enjoyed these lights for approximately one year. In the past six weeks, the power source/switch has self-destructed on not one but both units. The switch split in half in both cases and severed the wire on one of the connections. Based on my experience, this part seems like it has an issue. This part cannot be purchased separately on gardeners.com. I am looking for a substitute.

So far I am loving it! I am using it in my bedroom to start seeds and for plants that can't get enough light inside. I like how easy it is to move around. It did come with some scratches on the metal hood, but you don't notice them until your within 5 ft.

These grow lights are great for the beginning gardener and anyone else who is tight on space and would like to start a couple trays of seeds! It's not anything super fancy, but it looks nice and gets the job done. The directions were easy to follow and it came together in less than 10 minutes. My one issue was that the light hood said to remove the film before use. I had no film on my hood to remove so the top of the hood is a little scratched up from shipping and handling. I had no issues with germination of the seeds I placed underneath. Overall I'm very happy with this investment and can see myself using it for years!

I now have a small collection of mini African Violets that are thriving under the lights. Only issue I had was finding something to make a rack so the plants could be watered from the bottom. Found a wire shelf that was wide enough and I cut it half to use now and in a probably second purchase as my violets tend to do very well. Love the look of the unit.

I was on the fence about purchasing this, but my seedlings were immediately grateful I did. The plants appear stronger, more compact and healthier allowing me to get a jump start on the season in the colder NE climate. Aesthetically I wish it came in white - as the black is a bit stark in contrast to our lighter apartment decor.

I love this grow light! Placed it on a table in my garage and it's working great. The size is fantastic for two seed trays.
