I found so many recipes that I wanted to make but never could actually buy the sauce because I was worried about buying it and not liking it but it is soooo good! I’m very excited to start trying those recipes! It is a thick barbecue sauce, like texture, and has a soy sauce like taste with a hint of something else familiar that I can’t just put. The soy sauce note is the stronger note in the flavor, but those background flavors really add to it. I know that hoisin sauce is one of the key ingredient in the dumpling sauce that I get from when I order takeout from my favorite Chinese restaurant.So definitely giving that a test on making that sauce at home. glad to have added it to my condiment collection because I am a condiment girly! I love Asian food and pretty often I cook it at home. Hoisin sauce is always one of the ingredients almost in every asian meal I cook. It taste salty and tangy I like to mix it with teriyaki sauce and add some sugar and vinegar. Recently I cooked stir fry beef for our romantic dinner with my husband. I was very pleased with the sweet taste of the sauce with the quick kick of savory flavor. I made it with stir fry chicken and veggies. And I actually just put some on rice just to eat it that way too. My next dinner I will try it as a marinade on pork. This sauce has quite a few methods you can use it in recipes. Thumbs up on this product! The 20oz bottle goes a long way.
