Keep Your Bees Fed During Winter Give your honeybees the extra food they need to survive the cold winter months. By using a candy board feeder, your bees will have a food source when their honey supply is low. It's a simple way to care for your hive and gain peace of mind. A candy board is a great supplement for a low honey supply. It also helps control the moisture in your hive by absorbing the extra moisture that occurs during winter, keeping your bees dry. Place on top of the inner cover (sold separately). The wire mesh inside the wooden frame helps support the sugar candy. You can make the candy with either the cook or no-cook method (both methods use sugar as the primary ingredient - there are many great recipes available online). Handcrafted by an Amish family who raises their own bees. Fits our 8-frame bee hives and components. Arrives fully assembled. Made of unpainted Eastern White Pine. Dimensions: 13-3/4"L x 20"W x 1-3/4"H. USA made in Ohio. FOR BEST CARE: We recommend any wooden hive component surface that is exposed to the elements to be protected with exterior primer and paint before use. Only prime and paint the outside, NEVER the inside where the bees live.
