LG 70" Class 4K UHD Smart LED HDR TV - 70UQ9000PUD

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Never buy an LG TV! Based on my experience, these TVs stop working properly after just 4 months, and the screen goes completely black. If you’re looking for quality and durability, consider other options.

Less than 2 years and the screen has gone out. Paid way too much to need to replace already. I have cheaper TVs that I had before and still work better than this.

So slow after 6 months that i can’t even open an app to play YouTube. It’s buggy and crashes. I’ve been sitting for 8 minutes while typing this review waiting to play something. I’ve tried restarting and updating all the software.

We've had this for a little over a year now. I still think that the picture is amazing, she speaker quality is very good, and the remote is super functional! The downside is that the main control board has been replaced twice. Both times were covered under warranty, but if it goes out again, we won't be so lucky.

Worked for 7 months, now the backlight refuses to turn on. Had other brands' TVs that lasted 10+ years, and were only replaced to finally upgrade from FHD to UHD. Absolute garbage-quality TV to die in less than a year.

I’d say overall the picture and sound is very good but sometimes the highlights look blown out or the volume isn’t that loud. There’s a feature to automatically adjust the volume for when movies spike in volume and this also does not work very well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The image quality is acceptable, not good or great. Contrast is mediocre. Direct light LEDs leave vertical light banding/blooming visible and clouding on a dark screen. The sound quality on settings other than AI are subpar. The AI setting improves it quite a bit but don’t expect theatre quality. The interface is laggy, especially when cold, and I am not a fan of ggl in any way. There is a distinct lack of customization ability compared to other UIs. For instance, there is no way to turn off the mouse pointer. It automatically comes on every time you hit the home button. It’s annoying. Nor can you personalize the home screen. The remote is not well designed for ergonomics or function. The most oft used buttons are too high up, even for large hands. The select/OK button is also the scroll/mouse button. Pressing it results in activating the pointer unintentionally. It’s also recessed in the center of the direction pad ring, leading to accidental channel changes and selections. There are no pause/play/direction buttons which adds extra steps to video navigation. For the price on this model, there are other TVs with significantly better image quality and user experience. Go with full array local dimming rather than direct lit or edge lit. Full array offers an immensely better image, contrast, and color reproduction! This set replaced one that was so much better in every way. I’m genuinely bummed about the purchase. Unless you find this tv for a crazy deal, don’t buy it.

Picture is always clear and sharp. It is a very smart tv--even smarter than me.
