It is rechargeable and the light on it makes for a great way to see when you don't have the hands available. I can see this as an emergency use item but I utilize it daily. I consider it one of my mom tools for life.

I like that it is rechargeable and comes with a cord, no need to worry about batteries and the charge lasts quite awhile. The amount of light for such a small lantern is outstanding. It is small enough to comfortably carry and the clip makes it super versatile. The micro USB charge port has a cover to ensure it doesn't get wet or dirty. The run time is about 10 hours when fully charged. The emergency whistle is a definite bonus. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to purchase for all my kayaking friends!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are a variety of uses for this item such as hiking, camping, and even hunting, but for me, I use to while walking my dogs. I live out in the country, so it gets pitch black out here. With that being said, you want to take the proper precautions to stay safe while out at night. I do wear bright colors and a reflective vest but using this is a lot better than the typical flashlight I was using. There are three different settings you need to toggle through. Push once and one light activates, press again and the second light will activate and shut off the first. Press again and it will power off. Press again and both lights activate. I typically will have both of the lights activated because it offers the most light but either one on is pretty bright alone. The clip on this is very durable. I click it to the top of the leash that I'm holding and it sticks to it because there is a magnet on the end of this light. This light is not heavy by any means and is durable. I have accidentally dropped it while getting ready for my walk with the dogs bc the tend to get hyper when they know we are going. This hasn't cracked or broke in any way. I have gotten this wet too and it's been fine. The battery life for this is exceptional. Once it gets low I plug it in and it's charged within a few hours. The magnet on this is strong. I keep it on the fridge when not in use so I don't lose it.

I sometimes leave work late and have to walk about half a mile on a somewhat dark path before getting to my car. I love carrying this in my purse and I was pleasantly surprised by how illuminating the light is. I absolutely love it and recommend it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you don't like lanterns attached to your backpack, I highly recommend this clip. It looks like a carabineer but don't rely on it as such. It can be attached via clip and handle light weight items but it is not for heavy items or for climbing. I like that it's minimalist in style and bright enough to be seen. Recharge time is fast and even comes with a cord. A camping must for a small item with a big task!

I must say, I love this little flashlight and love that I can clip it anywhere I want or need to. I don't know why the battery dies quickly though. It only lasted alittle under 3 hours. I love the little whistle on it, while we were camping we came across a baby cub. I used the whistle to warn others that mommy bear must be close and to freeze. Sure enough mommy bear came around the rocks two feet from my husband, my hubby got scared and had to change his britches once they scurried along. Funny experience. This saved our lives.
