I agree with the recent review saying how disgusting this tastes. My family are also fans of tofu and decided to give this try. And we all hated it. And not just the taste but also the texture. I'll also mention we bought 2 of these at the same time so this isn't a case of happening to just get a bad one. We are all genuinely baffled how anyone can like this unless maybe you're a hard-core vegan and try to have a positive view of plant based things. In any case, if you're not vegan but do like tofu and are trying to become a bit more plant based all I can say is stick with tofu... it is infinitely better than this in every possible way!

I love this brand of tempeh! I prefer the one with added flax seed but Target doesn't carry that. I enjoy tofu, but don't like the prep work and amount of time it takes to cook. Tempeh cooks so quickly and gets a nice crispy edge. Similar to tofu, this doesn't have flavor so you must add spices, herbs and some sort of oil. I add a couple spoonfuls of a spicy thai spice blend + olive oil and turns out divine every time.

I am a fan of tofu - so believe me when I say this - this was the most disgusting thing I have ever put into my mouth. It tasted like hardened vomit. I literally shudder every time I think about it.

This was my first time trying tempeh even tho I've been wanting to for many years. It's definitely an aquired taste and I even though I didn't know how to use it, I would give it another try. I still give it five stars because I think it's a good product but I still need to learn how to prepare and cook it properly. Plus, it's inexpensive compared to animal protein.

It’s not the worst but it’s not the best either. It has a bit of a sour/tart taste/smell. This can work well with some flavors but not with others. I thought it paired well with Asian sauces but when I tried to do a peanut sauce this was way too sour with it. Overall I think that I prefer other meatless options over this but if your in a pinch it’s easy.

I had a coupon so i thought I would try it and i haven't decided if I like it or not, it's different. I'm not sure what it's supposed to be a substitute for so I can't comapare it to anything. It's a little bland so you have to add your own seasoning and you have to cook it like the directions say or it will come out very dry. The reason I do recommend this is because I'm undecided
