Nice lamp; lampshade way too short

The lamp base is really nice. I like the small diameter because it will be on a work table for me, and I need the space. I also like that it takes 3-way bulbs up to 150 watts - good light. The problem with it is that the light shade is way too short (7 in.) and the light bulb sticks up above the top of the lampshade. Obviously, unless a lamp is hanging from overhead above everyone's eyeline, this wouldn't matter, but for a table lamp, it's just bad design.
