Lionel Pennsylvania Flyer RTP Train Set with Bluetooth

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wonderful train set! The train cars are detailed and realistic with a vapor smoke and flickering led lights in the smoke stack! My kids loved it! It’s well built and easy to assemble.

This was a fabulous purchase. Because it is my exercise, the tracks are easy to put together in the train is easy to put on the tracks. It has a whistle and all kinds of wonderful extra features. Everybody from the very young to seniors had a great time playing with this train. Was tempted to leave it up!

Likes: the steam feature is such a delight for my grandson! This is really cool. Literally. It’s not really steam but a mist of cool moisture puffs. The first thing my 4-yr old grandson did was to put his face directly above the steam. lol. Also the engineer talking to the dispatch is very real. Finally, the train whistle also sounds real. Dislikes: it is indeed fully plastic, not like the metal Lionel trains we had as kids in the 60’s. But the plastic, snap-together tracks are durable, easy to assemble and disassemble. The engine and cars need to be well taken care of. My 2-yr old grandson immediately disassembled one of the coupling rods on the wheel. I was able to put it back together after a few tries. Wants: I want to have many more options, like the ability to purchase additional tracks, bridges, tunnels, etc. if those exist, I couldn’t find them online. Overall, it was one of my 4-yr old grandson’s favorite Christmas presents.

I was looking for a train to go around our Christmas tree and this was the perfect option. My grandchildren loved it and it stood up to their gentle play.

I bought this train for my son for Christmas and he loves it. Being able to download the app to control it is his favorite feature. Easy to assemble and great sound quality. Recommend for anyone who loves a good affordable train

I bought this over Thanksgiving and it arrived to me in a few days. As an old school conventional Lionel fan, I really wanted to try LionChief/Blutooth without spending a lot of money. I find the construction of the loco and cars to be rugged. The track is a pliable plastic. The set is a bit larger than G scale. All of these features make for an attractive floor display that can be played with. The auto pilot is a great idea. I am truly enjoying this train.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good quality train! Train & tracks are sturdy. I built it to go around in a circle around my tree. For some reason it kept coming apart when going around in a circle. It keeps unlatching. Wished it worked. Maybe some adhesive of some sort can help it. It also falls off track too. Definitely do not reccomend in a circle. A much bigger and wider round square shape around the tree would work best. The steam and the speaker was great. The train speaker/voice was very clear. Definitely sounds like a real train! This is going to be our Christmas set up every year around our tree!

This was well put together kind of heavy package, but jaw dropping to say the least. What a beautiful train! It came with clear instructions and the ability to download an app right your phone that is designed to control the speeds, on/off and more! I absolutely can’t get over how big and cool this train is. It blows steam out (water vapor) has cool LED lights and is bluetooth operated. Ther are so many great features. My 12 year old son was blown away by this. It comes with the tracks and looks beautifully put under the Christmas tree. I highly recommend 10/10

It goes forward and in reverse and there is a switch that it can go automatically too! You can also create smoke and there is a light; the kids love it! Just not it’s a plastic train not metal. Would highly recommend this product!

The train can go forward and reverse. Or there is a on/off switch on the train where the train automatically goes. This train also has smoke. My kids love this! The set also comes with tracks that are straight. Great size.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Lionel Pennsylvania Flyer Train Set is easily assembled, our 9 year old did it with no adult assistance. It’s a charming, highly realistic set with LED lights and water vapor steam! It works on autopilot mode and with a Bluetooth app downloadable on any phone. My kids did want me to now order a Lionel Universal controller now, which is not included in the kit. Highly recommend!

Although I was a little disappointed in the durability of the train. It looks like an old-fashioned train set, but it’s not Durable. It has a lot of cool features light and steam. And it does remind me of my grandparent's train set.

The Pennsylvania Flyer isn’t just any toy – it's like a mini adventure on tracks. With the Bluetooth feature, the kids can control the train sounds and movements from a distance, which has blown their minds (and mine too, honestly!). The train set is pretty easy to set up with the tracks snapping together without too much hassle. The 39 pieces give plenty of ways to get creative, especially with loading and unloading the gondola – they love that little mission! Also, it’s impressively sturdy. Even after a few “accidents” (okay, derailments!), it holds up well. A bit of battery management is needed since it’s fully battery-operated, but for the amount of fun it brings, it’s worth it. The only issue? It might turn you into a train fan too! All aboard for hours of fun! 🚂💨
