A: The plug does not screw in, it just presses into the base. You might want to try a pair of plyers to pull it up and out of the base.

A: No, 40 lbs of sand is required to weight the base.

A: The top post should slide up and down inside of the bottom post and the entire post should remain in the sand filled base. If the base is not filled with sand that could allow the post to be removed easily.

It was great for about 3 months, but after that the rim would keep falling off after 4-5 shots which was pretty annoying. The rim doesn’t secure very well to the backboard.

We are sorry to hear of your experience. Please place the rim in the backboard and lay the basketball set down on the ground and very carefully step on the right side of the rim where it attaches to the backboard and you will hear a loud snap. Repeat the process for the left side and once you hear two loud snaps the rim will be fully in place and will no longer release from the backboard. Thank you!

The base of the yellow bent after about a week. It wasn’t able to support the actual hoop. We will be returning. I found one on marketplace for half the cost from six years ago. That is much sturdier. It seems like the company is using cheaper materials.

Little tikes quality has not been great lately! The red part for the goal starts to fall off after so long so it’s almost a hazard around small children that could fall on there head!

I just purchased this Basketball Set for my grandson. The quality of the materials and ease of assembly are second to none. The directions suggest filling the base with approximately 40 pounds of sand to safely stabilize it against tipping over. I totally agree BUT the filing hole is ridiculously small. It is fine for filling the base with water. Have any of your Quality Control sharpies tried filling the base with sand. When it takes them up to four hours to complete the task shouldn't something be modified? How about a much wider flanged access hole with a screw on/off top? The opening to accommodate sand should be 3 or 4 inches in diameter. I love your products but I would never purchase this item again or suggest this item to a friend. If I see a drastic change I would definitely purchase and suggest this item in the future. Mike S.

My son really enjoyed this hoop but he hasn’t even had it for a month and it is already leaning so far forward. It seems like the heat has almost melted it. We clearly need something more sturdy

Received this as a gift and will likely give it away. Do yourself a favor a buy a higher quality/more well-made one. The hoop constantly falls off this one as it doesn’t secure properly.

So sorry to hear of your experience. Please try this assembly tip: Lay the basketball set down on the ground with the rim inserted in the backboard facing upward. Very carefully step on the right side of the rim where it attaches to the backboard and you will hear a loud snap. Please repeat the process for the left side of the rim and you will hear another loud snap. After hearing two loud snaps the rim will be fully assembled. I got this for my son when he was 1.5 years old and it sat for awhile but around 4 years old it became his favorite toy! He plays all day long. We bring it outside and keep it inside. I use a weighted vest on the bottom so it doesn’t fall over and I don’t have to fill it with sand. Great for kids who want to be a ‘basketball hooper’ like my son.
