Satisfied happy and will buy another one again around Thanksgiving. So can bake two loafs together for holidays bread gift giving. I did season the pan, than made meatloaf, after making it made gravy in it on top of stove, too. It was yummy! Did a little testing made two meatloafs one in the cast iron and other in my Mom’s pyrex glass loaf pan/bread panfrom the 1950’s. Both pans did good. But preferred the cast-iron. Little less time (per-heated pan before filling). Also made garlic sandwiches no yest bread. Turned out excellent. Bread didn’t stick to the pan. Easy cleanup just hot water scraping with non soap NO SOAP scraper put on stove burner to dry. Just how I wash all my Cast Iron from the new ones to the ones I inherited from my parents.

Smaller than described

The description is misleading. It’s 12 inches from handle to handle. The actual cooking loaf size is only 8.5 inches. They arrived much smaller than I expected.

perfect for baking and bread making. bakes everything MUCH more evenly than my glass and aluminum loaf pans. makes the perfect crust on my sourdough bread when preheated. quite an investment, especially if you wanna buy more than one, but of course they'll last longer than a lifetime.

I love the dimensions for the Lodge loaf pans! The loaf pans I had previously were too wide to allow my loaves to get real tall, but the loaves I made in the Lodge loaf pans were just right! I used them the same day I bright them home - washed them lightly with soap and water and greased lightly before placing the dough in to rise. The pans released the baked loaves beautifully!
Great for sourdough!

Great results when making sourdough! The pans have a great shape and can withstand the high temps needed for sourdough. The pans are factory seasoned, but I did a thin film of oil, then one piece of parchment left long enough for lifting handles. After baking, a quick rinse, dry, then nested for storage. Per Lodge storage tips, I put paper towels in between the nested pans.

Ruined my homemade bread, got stuck to the bottom and now a whole loaf wasted… I applied oil to it and even then it got stuck. I’m well versed on cast iron so this was incredibly disappointing.

Amazing! I’ve made four loaves so far and they’ve all turned really nice. Make sure to spray pan with cooking spray even if you season it with oil…lesson learned.

Great loaf pan! I have used it to make pumpkin breads and banana breads, and it gives them the most wonderful crust, while the center of the breads come out perfect!
