Starts out cute but quickly turns bizarre and creepy imo I know the internet is divided on this but personally I am returning this. I’ve heard that the author wrote this thinking of his and his wife’s lost children to still birth

What a tear jerker. There is no love like mother's love and this book shows it beautifully. This book was read to us on a mothers day lunch in kindergarten. To this day, this book is still so powerful and nicely written. I'm 30 now and gift this for baby showers!

This book has a great message. It is quite repetitive and a little catchy, but overall has a really sentimental meaning.
Cute but weird?

Cute book, but a chore to read over and over again so be prepared. Also mom crawling into grown sons window with ladder is a bit strange.

Don’t like the illustration style and I hate the writing and premise. This book is weird and gross.

Wow.. this book is so not for toddlers. Depressing! I am shocked at how many people think it's a good idea to read stuff like "Sometimes his mother wanted to sell him to the zoo!". Good grief!!

Great book to cry to. Knowing the background behind this book makes me cry even more when I read it. I’ve only read it to my infant once….don’t know that I’ll be able to read it again.
The best childrens book

Forever my favorite book. Whenever I have someone who’s having a baby I buy them this book to read to their little ones. My mom read it to us every night, and the story line is so sweet. An absolute must for your baby’s library!
Love You Forever - nice story... gave it as a gift.

Love You Forever - nice story, maybe even a 'fairy tale' of a parent's love... forever, and that love being returned by a then adult child... and finally passed on to a next generation. Shame, ideals seem to be lost in current society with day care for children on to senior communities. But would't it be nice if. I got more then a few of these books to give as gifts. I hope I was giving more than just a book, that I was giving a thought. That's All.
I say no.

how do you expect a mother to read this all the way through and not choke up with the kid wondering what's wrong?! I will read it up til the teenager part and call it a night. :')
