An emotional roller-coaster!!

Wow! Prepare for an emotional roller-coaster. This book had me laughing and crying. There is loss, heartbreaking memories, and tears. There's also second chances, new memories, and renewed love! "We'd lost a lot, but look at how much we'd found within the ruins of our loss." These characters are some of my all-time favorites! Avalee's backstory broke my heart. Her losses were monumental. As each piece of the puzzle was coming together, I hoped that the product would be a brighter future. Rowan- hunk! Yes, he's more than that! He's compassionate, trustworthy, persistent, and loyal! I'm so happy that Bash and Koda found a family! Some difficult issues are brought up in the book. Death, murder, miscarriages and failed relationships. I really appreciated the author's note concerning miscarriages. I, too, had a scare, and it's traumatizing. The reminder that God is in control is important. Somewhere, South Carolina is brought to life as each building is restored and revitalized! It's a place that I'd definitely like to visit! This is the first book I've read by T I Lowe, but it certainly won't be the last! I was provided a complimentary copy of the book from Tyndale and Interviews and Reviews via Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

T.I Lowe is quickly becoming an author I must read. She beautifully told the emotions of grief after miscarriages and how hard that is for a couple. The second chance romance was fun to read and I loved how she brought them back together. I love a good romance that starts out as friends when they were kids. All the history there is so fun to read about and makes the romance so much more believable. I did get bogged down a bit by all the restoration information. That's not really my thing so I skimmed over those parts. Excellent and moving story though. I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

“Cell phones carry ten times more bacteria than most toilet seats.” Quite an interesting first line that leads the reader to Somewhere, SC—a small ghost town where not only a house is being flipped, but the entire town is being restored! Not a huge fan of HGTV (except to watch while sitting in the waiting room at the Dr's office), I couldn't even fathom what it would take to restore an entire town back to its former glory. A lot of creativity, sweat, grit, and hard work, for sure! Avalee Elvis owns a company called Lowcountry Lost who excels at these rehabbing projects. When a handsome structural engineer shows up from her past, the reminders of the grief and loss they both suffered threaten to overcome Avalee. To know Rowan Murray is to love him. What a charmer he is—witty, funny, hardworking, mischievous, and that Irish brogue. Oh, these characters, y'all! And Somewhere, SC, is in my neck of the woods . . . somewhere. 🤔 Lowcountry Lost is a warm, heartrending story of hope, redemption, and second chances with just enough romance to make "my insides go all warm and gooey." Perfect quote from the book to describe the way I felt! *I received a complimentary ARC of this book from the publisher and was not required to write a positive review.*
