Q: How long should it "inflate" before I can use it, and will it be hurt if during that period a 50 lb. dog sleeps on it (because he will when I'm not looking)?

A: Hey Maria, Thanks for reaching out to us. There have been no real long-term studies on the effects of memory foam being exposed to this type of continuous heat. Though it would not be dangerous to use an electric blanket with your memory foam mattress/topper, it may shorten the life of the memory foam. If you choose to use an electric blanket or heating pad, we recommend that you do not expose the foam to the heat for longer than half an hour at a time and only use low to medium heat settings. Please note that the use of a heating pad or blanket would negate any cooling properties that come with the mattress/topper, like infusion of gel into the memory foam. A: Hey Missy, The measurement for the Queen mattress is 60" x 80". All new foam products can have a new smell when they are first opened, especially as they expand. This smell is completely harmless and should dissipate very quickly. A great way to air out this topper is to place it in a well ventilated room with a fan blowing on it. It is not an actively cooling product and should still be comfortable during the winter. The best way to regulate the temperature of a bed is by the sheets you use. We purchased two XL twins to create a king size bed in our Airbnb unit. I slept on it a couple times while working on the unit and loved it - it’s firm but with enough “squish” that your arm doesn’t fall asleep when u lay on your side like some firm mattresses tend to do. The real kicker, and the reason I came back to post a review, is that I’ve had 3 guests already ask what mattress it is because they loved it and wanted to purchase their own. Will be buying my own as soon as we switch beds.

I bought my daughter this 10 in gel memory foam mattress to replace a mattress that was truly pathetic at this point. She allowed it to fully inflate and put it on her metal bed frame that I had under my gel memory foam bed, with no problems, before I got a platform bed frame. This new mattress performs like an inflatable mattress with a leak. Every morning she wakes up on the metal bars of her bed frame. We've had it a couple weeks and every night she sleeps on it she wakes with horrible neck pain. It doesn't perform the same as other gel memory foam mattresses either, before it sinks flat. With other mattresses you can put full drinks on them, sit down 2 feet away and not spill a drop. This Lucid mattress? If you put any weight on the mattress, you'd spill a drink placed on the other end of the mattress. This seems to be a case of you get what you pay for but this mattress isn't worth $20. My daughter wishes we had the old pathetic, uncomfortable mattress back. The company will reply to this bad review in a month or so with the equivalent of "Sorry our mattress sucks, some people like it that way. Good luck finding a mattress you're able to sleep on." Don't believe me? Check their reply to other bad reviews. I feel like a company with a quality product that they stand behind would not have that attitude about their product or towards their customers. My only consolation at this point is that the thief that stole the first mattress they sent out? Inflated that worthless mattress and now, ALSO has to find a way to get rid of a bulky piece of junk.

I wanted to wait until I used this mattress for a longer period of time to give an accurate review, and it did not disappoint! I have been sleeping on this mattress daily for almost a year & it looks and feels just as it did the day I got it. It arrived vacuum-sealed, was easy to open, and inflated fully within 24hrs (no depressed corners or anything), but I let it take the full recommended time to inflate before using it just incase. I’ve been sleeping on it every day since on just a metal bed frame with no box spring, no topper, and it’s still extremely comfortable (especially for those who like moderately firm mattresses). The foam has not formed a crater where I sleep & the mattress does not trap heat even in the warmest temperatures. So worth it!
