submitted by AliKat - 7 years ago
  • A: No. I thought t was when I purchased it, but could never tell the difference. Emailed customer care and found out it wasn’t. But our infant and toddler slept on it for 3+ years and loved it!

Q: I love how the exterior is polyethylene. But what is the foam core made of? It also says it's non-toxic, but under safety information it's his flame retardant are used?

submitted by Jenn - 6 years ago
  • A: It's probably densified polyester. I believe the material is naturally flame retardant. I wrote the manufacturer and asked what the inner material was and this was their response: "Lullaby Earth mattresses are made from food-grade polyethylene and polyester, materials used throughout the food packaging industry due to their recyclability. Using these food-safe materials means that our crib mattresses are made without common potential allergens or chemicals like formaldehyde, perfluorinated compounds (PFCs), pesticides, glues/adhesives, and GMOs. Our mattresses are made without polyurethane foam and vinyl/PVC. Lullaby Earth baby crib mattresses easily pass all government flammability standards without the use of flame retardant chemicals."
