Lyric 40lb Outside Bird Seed Feeder Wild Bird Food: Attracts Cardinals, Finches, Jays

Great value and the critters love it. When I feel the hanging (squirrel-proof) feeder, I always pour out about a cup on the lanai. Larger birds, such as cardinals, bluejays and mourning doves, can enjoy some this way. Due to the wonderful mix in this offering, I feel confident they are all getting good nutrition.

Using this mix I have brought into my feeder Finches, Nut Hatches, Chickadees and various other migratory birds. This is great to have year round, even though I prefer to feed everyone in the winter when it's harder for the yo find the food. This mix gives the birds some incentive to venture to the feeders I have set up around the yard. I love being able to watch the birds from a better vantage point and knowing that I am providing them with optimal nutrition throughout the year.

I live on Long Island, NY and here this product seems to mainly attract sparrows. I did see a few cardinals as well, and even a couple of squirrels. I’m hoping that over time it might also attract the doves and blue jays since I see them in my yard occasionally. The birds gobble it up quite quickly, and I refill the feeder a couple times per week. This looks like a fairly traditional birdseed mix containing cracked corn, white proso millet, black oil sunflower seeds, black striped sunflower seeds, shelled peanuts and safflower seeds. It is mainly comprised of millet. I would definitely recommend this bird seed to anyone looking for a traditional mix of ingredients to feed their backyard birds

Some of the really tiny seeds that were super small were a bit hard to fill into the feeder as they would kind of easily fall out when trying to fill it. Other than that I liked that it had a nice variety in it and was overall easy to load into the filler. So far the birds haven't been super attracted to it but I live in a colder climate so I think they will be loving this when the spring hits. I like that this seed comes in a big bag so I feel like it is a great value too and will attract several kinds of birds!

The mix as far as I can see contains corn, sunflower seeds and peanuts among other seeds. Just this morning, I saw a beautiful cardinal on my deck. I feel it's a quality item, although getting a little pricey.

The seeds inside the bag are clean and fresh. Lyric seems to be a brand to count on. The birds go through it pretty quick, of course depending on how much I put out...but I have 2 feeders plus, and they have cleaned me out at least twice a day....sometimes three.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Birds (and unintentionally squirrels) seem to like this mix. I have not seen the greatest variety in birds unfortunately, but what I have seen is a whole lot small birds that seem to take to it. Whatever birds do arrive are always fun to look at to me regardless. One day was particularly rainy and windy but I still saw a small bird hanging on dearly and pecking at this feed. Feed fits well and dispenses easily through my hanging tube feeder. And the 5lb bag was just enough to fill it to the top without having to store away any leftovers. Nutritional ingredients with over 20% sunflower seeds and no filler hopefully also means it is exactly what the birds need for their long flights once they leave my yard.
