I researched red lipsticks online before I bought this. I've been trying to find a red that looks good on me, but this isn't it. It's extremely bright, like really bright, and even a little bit is overwhelming. It comes off more orangey on me, which is not what I wanted at all. On top of it all, this lipstick is drying. I should have returned it, but i waited too long.

I bought my first MAC lipstick the other day and i can see why they are so popular now. I got russian red and i usually never wear red or bold colors… this was sooo FLATTERING, it looks so good and ive gotten several compliments from random people! Such a confidence boost! The color is amazing and lasts for hours. only cons are its not a full matte so if you touch it or kiss, it will come off a little bit.

my skin tone is a neutral tan and this shade is perfect! Does transfer a bit but not too much. Many of the pinks and mauves look ashy on me or just off but this with a brown lip liner… beautiful.

Amazing lipsticks! I got it in a bunch of colors! Very creamy and beautiful formula. I totally get the people who say that it is not too long lasting. It is indeed not a retro matte lipstick, but I don't mind reapplying. Super comfortable on the lips! Great range of colors. Can't get enough, MAC!

I have been wearing MAC since the 90's. Their lipstick is superior. The pigment etc no one can beat it. This is their best Matte formula yet. Goes on smooth. Lasts long. So many color choices and the packaging is classy.

I am neutral toned and absolutely couldn't decide between shades. So, I asked for help at the MAC Counter at Ulta and Russian Red was suggested to me. I adore it and have worn it both matte and with a clear gloss applied overtop. It's perfection.

The new formula is still matte but not nearly as drying as the old one. Mac lipsticks can't be beat IMO. I purchased Whirl and it's such a beautiful shade. 1 star off for shade being a lil different from old 1. Can't wait to try more shades.
