Took 2 experienced assemblers 2 hours. Intense off-gassing odor. Had to leave it outside with doors and drawers open for 2 weeks before I could stand having it in my house. Only faint smell after a month. Fixed drawer that wouldn't stay closed with magnetic clasp. Given the problems, it's a gorgeous and generally well-made piece I expect to enjoy for a long time.

For the price, this is a well made item and very stylish. The instructions are easy to follow. It is a lot of steps, but not difficult. We did have a slight issue with the holes on the base not lining up resulting in an extra hour of finagling. I also find that the drawers don’t work well with the wheels because it tends to want to pull the whole unit forward when you open one. The wheels also add more height than the feet, so I plan to switch them out. I also noticed the wood top is slightly bowed and not completely flat, but it doesn’t look bad enough to affect my use so I will live with it. Overall despite some issues, it is a beautiful item for a budget conscious shopper who is comfortable with DIY. Otherwise shop at a furniture store that will deliver and assemble.

This island is beautiful, especially the color. It went together like a dream. No broken pieces, pre-drilled holes lined up. Back of unit is completely finished which was important to me for where it was positioned in my home. Super pleased with quality.
