He loved the cards in this deck and spent hours going through them all. I know nothing about the game, but I know he liked these cards, so I would recommend them.

These actually make a great gift to collectors too! They are affordable. And can be played as a super fun game. My kids love them! There's a good amount of cards in there too!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just started playing magic again. this deck starts out fast and can take out other decks that are slow build up. the commander taps and you add a soldier with lifetap. a lot of the other cards are built around this. helping get the commander tapped (without attacking). also other cards do things when you gain life (solider with lifetap). I thought this deck was going to be lame but ended up being my favorite out of the five starter decks that just came out. I bought all five to play with my kids. My 8 year old understands the cards its not too complicated. he told me I need more mana ramp. this starter commander deck has the mana ramp. while using the five starter decks this deck has the best mana ramp. If you're getting back into magic I recommend the starter decks.

He was excited to receive the starter commander deck and immediately opened it to see what was inside. This set includes a 100 card deck, deck box and 10 double sided token cards. It also has a strategy insert and reference card. He and his friends had alot of fun with this game and he even started teaching his sister how to play. This deck kept him occupied and he was happy to add it to his collection.

There's so many different layers to the game itself with a large range of different characters to battle/acquire/defeat/challenge. The story line is so far out there, and peaks your imagination. Magic The Gathering is a game that is consistently leaving you on your toes playing it. I've been having a blast playing with my new MGT SD5 Starter Commander Deck, and can't wait to acquire the whole new collection to add to me set.

They have a carrier box included and strategies also instructions ( in case you never played). But he said it was worth the money.
