Shelf is sturdy and arrives fully assembled. Color is a really pretty purple-ish gray. Heavy for the size. Which speaking of size, this is a petite bookcase. I think other reviews said the same, and it’s true. Def check the measurements. We are using it for kids books so it works. But it looks undersized next to our sofa for sure. Will be moving to the kids room and getting something larger for the living room.
