Q: Is this pressing sourced from the same stampers as the 50th anniversary all-analog cut by Kevin Gray?

I love the green vinyl but I think it wasn't pressed very well. It arrived warped and is a little noisy, even after cleaning off all the little pieces of paper left by the cheap inner sleeve. It plays okay but isn't what you would expect from a brand new record. I exchanged it and the replacement was the same.

Cool emerald green repressing of the classic record

Didn’t appear to have any playback issues, and thus transparent green looks gorgeous, however, like most modern records it seems to be a bit thin. (I’m a bit new to this vinyl thing so I may be underestimating how sleek these things can come out to be. My only complain is the QC on this pressing, while the side a I played was working entirely fine, no warping or anything, I did notice that the edge of the record had lots of plastic that wasn’t removed, or checked to be clean either. Functionally there’s nothing wrong with it, sounds great, but again the plastic repressing seems to be over looked/cheaper out on.

This is a classic LP and every single song is amazing. Unfortunately, the record is moderately warped. Fortunately my TT is able to track the record but it’s still disappointing. Quite the wave when playing. This seems to be happening more often.

I love the color of the vinyl and the poster that came with it. The album sounded great and I’m happy I got because I only knew two songs but now I really love this album.

Disapponting Quality in the Disc -- Not in the Music

Finally dropped the needle on this special re-issue of Marvin Gaye’s classic. Took it out of the sleeve and was a bit disappointed to find the final thinner than expected, more like a children’s record. However, the greatest disappointment was the pop and skip less than 30 seconds into “What’s Going On.” Used my record cleaning brush on it, but to no avail. The music is unsurpassed, but a brand new record with pops and skips is very disappointing.

Record has a slight warp but is playable. The sleeve is poorly designed. It’s a standard gatefold for a double LP with the poster taking the place of a record. As a result the spine is far thicker than the rest of the package causing a variety of warps, bends and poor gluing on the overall package. I suspect this to be the cause of many records being warped.

Clear and Cool Vibes on Neat Vinyl

Great sound and cool look with the Kelly green translucent vinyl. Bummer to hear that others have received warped copies--mine is fine. The only knock I give the album is that it's not a 180 gram pressing. I hope this lasts a long time because I've been looking to add this album to my collection for awhile.

Offset label in runout groove.

Leonardo - 4 years ago
I have been anticipating this release and bought it the first day of release. My first copy I bought had a misplaced offset label that landed in the runout groove. I returned it that night and exchanged it for another copy which was good. This pressing in my opinion sounds great from a 1200 with a M447 with Jico stylus. Four stars for having to return my first copy, five stars fro album itself.

Nice Edition

Lethrus - 4 years ago
Based on all the warped vinyl reviews, perhaps I got lucky. Mine is as flat as a pancake and plays flawlessly. This record is well-mastered with very few pops and clicks (if any), and I appreciate the packaging, which includes a gatefold cover and poster. The translucent green vinyl is nice too, but admittedly I would have preferred the darker green color used in the listing, as one other reviewer eluded to. Worth picking up!
