Maxim Sky Panel 48" Wide Bronze LED Ceiling Light

This fixture looks great when installed but getting it there and keeping there is something else. The mounting bracket has an odd pattern that only fits a 3-O box facing a certain way. It's missing a slot. The most serious concern is the mounting security. The bracket mount on the J-box and with toggles through the ceiling. The fixture is then held up on the bracket with two tiny screws. Scary

Good looking light we installed in our basement. You do need two people to do the installation unless you have three hands.

This is an excellent LED fixture. I purchased 3 different sizes for my kitchen. We love the slim design. They look great and are an excellent buy. More importantly, the customer service at Lamps Plus is spectacular!

Light looks great but it is not 3000k. Definitely a soft white light with too much yellow for our closet. The fixture itself is nice looking. Will be returning.

I wish I could give this a five star review. We purchased two of these for our kitchen about six months ago. We like the look of the fixture and the 300K gives us a nice warm light In spite of the experts saying 400k should be used in a kitchen. Now the reason for the one star! Other reviews have explained the pain of getting the fixture installed, so I won't repeat. The spring clips are way too flimsy to hold the weight of this fixture, which makes it dangerous. Over time the fixtures started pulling away from the ceiling, about 1/8th inch. My wife told me to fix them before they fell down. I told her they were not going to fall. She was right! The other day we had a lightning strike about 1/4 mile away. The thunder caused one of the fixtures to fall off the ceiling. Also the pop rivet on the safety cable is good for one tug before it pulls through the thin sheet metal. Luckily no one was under the fixture.

We had this light professionally installed and it fell from the ceiling ~a week later. We reinstalled it ourselves (which was a PAIN) and it fell from the ceiling again a few weeks later, this time breaking. We are so thankful no one was standing under the light either of these times. With a newborn in our house... not worth the safety risk. We will have to throw this away and find something to replace it with. Waste of $200.

If it was easier to install I would give it more stars. It is a bit pricy but looks much better than an old fluorescent light. I was installing it by myself and could not get all the corners latched. I did it about five times and each time one corner would not take. I was using two hands and my head to hold it flush. Problem is that it is floppy, so you need four points of support. Then as you slide it on and off it, as you miss a corner, it scratches the ceiling paint. So I had to repaint the ceiling. I left one corner not attached as ran out of time and energy. It is not noticeable so I left it that way. (I will say that most lighting fixtures are a pain in the butt in their own special way) If they could make it more ridged or improve the latching system it would be better.

Overall, the quality of this light fixture is very good. Installation in pretty much self explanatory. Make sure when sliding the light fixture into the frame it is definitely in the bracket secured.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I took this out of the box when I first got it and was impressed with how thin it is yet very sturdy and well made. It is no thicker than a picture frame and had a strong hanging plate. It is perfect for my finished basement which has only 6’8” ceilings. Looks great and the lighting is bright but not harsh. Am going to get a dimmer switch which I couldn’t use with my fluorescent fixture.
