Miss Camilla Pierpont, a renowned matchmaker and influential member of the New York Four Hundred, has vowed never to marry after suffering a devastating heartbreak during her debut years ago. However, when she is nearly abducted along the Hudson River, she finds herself rescued by an annoyingly outspoken, albeit fascinating, gentleman who challenges her in a manner she wasn't expecting. After learning that Camilla Pierpont has enjoyed success with taking wayward young ladies in hand, Mr. Owen Chesterfield travels to the Hudson River Valley determined to convince Camilla to sponsor his sister, who is in desperate need of social rehabilitation.
Knowing her life is in danger, Camilla agrees to Owen's proposition and travels with him to West Virginia, finding herself charmed by the less-than-formal attitude of his small hometown, as well as by Owen himself. But danger waits in the shadows, disrupting what she knows would be the most spectacular match she's ever made--her own.

This book was a delight to read. I caught myself smiling often, imagining the ridiculous situations the main characters kept finding themselves in. I actually laughed out loud several times. Turano is one of the best, and I don’t say that lightly. There aren’t many authors that can claim to have made me laugh out loud, and she does it every time. Meeting Her Match is the third book in The Matchmakers series, and I was anxious to read Camilla’s story! I couldn’t imagine just how much I was going to enjoy the journey. Owen and his family are truly one of a kind. Their antics were so unpredictable and I loved that I couldn’t guess what would happen next. Owen and Camilla have such fun chemistry, and are from completely different worlds. If you enjoy Historical Romance with a bit of suspense thrown in, you will love this book. During my work day I found myself thinking about the characters, and counting down the hours until I could dig in to the story again. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers. I was in no way forced to post a positive review, and all opinions are my own.
Hilarious and heartwarming!

“YOU read romance novels?” “I read everything, dear, which has opened up my world and lent me invaluable insight into this troublesome condition we call being human.” A never ending thrill ride of witty banter and hilarious hijinks, Meeting Her Match will have you laughing out loud! Lovers of sparkling and amusing dialogue will enjoy the abundance of it in this book! Jen Turano excels at dialogue, but she also added some danger and heroic rescues in this one! Best of all, this funny romcom set in the gilded age also points directly to Jesus and his loving plans for His children, which makes this story inspiring and not just entertaining. I really enjoyed it! I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion. I really did love it!

I am a longtime Jen Turano fan. I recommend her books quite frequently, especially to those who are looking for a fun, lighthearted read or a book to get them over a reading slump. I will be a bit more cautious about recommending this one. Meeting Her Match goes beyond fun and lighthearted into corny and silly. The interesting mystery of identifying would-be-kidnappers quickly fell to the wayside until the last quarter of the book. I would especially caution residents of Appalachia and those who hold the region in special affection. I do look forward to Turano's next book. She has too many wonderful books under her belt for me not to anticipate another wonderful one. I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of Meeting Her Match from Bethany House via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.
