Melissa & Doug Blockables™ are connectable, stackable, and playable! The solid wood connect-and-play building blocks are perfect manipulatives to help preschoolers two and older boost developmental skills (fine motor, problem-solving, matching, storytelling, and self-esteem), while using their imaginations and having fun. Easy-to-grasp smooth, colorful wooden blocks fit together in a snap with large connectors that even little hands can push in and pull out. An illustrated guide shows how to arrange and link the Blockables™ to create multi-textured safari animals (zebra, alligator, lion with felt mane, elephant with felt ears, and giraffe), or kids can use their imaginations to mix, match, and combine pieces to make unique figures and play their own way! Kids can easily expand their collection -- the 34-piece Safari Play Set is compatible with all other Blockables™ play sets. My little guy has been having so much fun not only building the actual animals, but also creating new ones by mixing and matching the parts. They are easy for small hands to put together but don't fall apart easily. The box they come in also doubles as a play scene and has a magnetic closure, which is great, but my son already accidentally ripped the box as it's cardboard. I taped it up since it is so convenient for storage and travel. The connecting parts appear large enough that they don't pose a huge choking hazard, and they have a hole going through the middle. Overall, this is a hit with my toddler- it seems to hold his attention and fosters creativity!

They thought of everything, its durability is good because it is made of wood and super creative in terms of training and very good quality.

Right away my kids were ready to play with them. They are 2, 4 and 6 and the instructions were fairly easy for them to follow to create the suggested animals. Afterwards they continued to play by making mixing and matching different parts for endless play. The parts easily attach and detach so they did not need any of my help. The parts are all made of good quality material and seem to be made safe for my kids. I was able to take a much needed break while they had fun with their new block. I highly recommend these blocks!!!

She was able to help put them together and connect the pieces easily. She played for a long time just prending to be each animal. One funny thing was the little person that comes with set my daughter saw it and called it a cactus. Haha! ❤️🤣

Easy to play with straight out of the box, no assembly required and bonus the box is good quality too and can be used for storing the toys as it was designed with a magnetic closure. No need to cut or tear open the box destroying it. Definitely would recommend these!

The rough wooden blocks are easy for little hands to connect, and she loves mixing and matching the pieces to create different animals that are so cute. She can feel all the details which is nice, and I love that it encourages creativity and problem solving even at a young age. The sturdy storage box has a handle for easy cleanup. This is a great toy for solo play, and with friends it is well made and will keep her entertained for hours. Definitely worth adding to the set.

Perfect size for my 2 year old to be able to grab and put the pieces together on her own but also entertaining enough that my almost 5 year old spent 30 mins building animals with her! I love that the case works as a little playground for the safari animals but unfortunately my box did come a bit damaged so I likely won’t get much reuse out of that. I love the solid wood blocks and that they are sturdy but not to heavy. The designs are super cute and have that charm Melissa and Doug toys are known for.

They love the elephant blocks because of the little blue human on the elephant. They can build 2 different elephant from that elephant blocks. The toy blocks are very easy to build and light wood blocks.

The wooden blocks and animals are sturdy and colorful, and it’s fun watching them stack and mix the pieces in different ways. It keeps them entertained while also helping with coordination. Some pieces can be tricky for younger toddlers to balance, but that just adds to the challenge. Great quality and lots of fun!

Its safe for younger kids as mine is 3! They are well made and great for kiddo’s imagination along with hand eye coordination. My daughter plays with these all throughout the day and even loves the little backdrop that comes with the box to help her imagination even more!
