Melissa & Doug Wooden La Patisserie Bakery (39pc)

The Wooden La Patisserie Bakery is cute, but it's so low to the ground that it needs to be elevated for my three-year-old to be able to play with it. I wish it were taller. I was really disappointed when I got it because of its height. The mixer and accessories are adorable, however, and the look of the bakery is appealing.

This is my least favorite M&D purchase to date. If I had known how poorly built it was before my daughter opened it from Santa, I would have returned it, but now I'm stuck with it. The glue is all over the product. The know and other pieces are covered in soft, tacky glue. It seems to have seeped out of every spot it was used in. The paint/design started waring of some of the pieces almost immediately with regular play. The register and cake stand don't lock in so they just get pulled off constantly. It is extremely overpriced for what you get.

We got this for our 6 year old. She loves it but for the price and brand that this is the sketch pad is coming loose after a day of use and there is a massive amount of glue everywhere that is from over application. It also didn't come with any directions on where the magnets are supposed to go or anything else.

The glue is bubbling all over the mixer and I am afraid the mixer clip will break after a few uses. It is really cool but you have to lift the clip a bit to change out the head and it is only glued on. Until this is fixed i would not recommend it.

My son really liked it and enjoys playing with it. The card reader falls all the time while playing, that is the only thing annoys us. Otherwise perfect.

The payment terminal is such an amazing touch and something the kids are very much familiar with these days in similar shops. The removable dough hook/whisk for the mixer makes the whole "baking" process so much more realistic. Loved the customization options and all the fun accessories! This is a such a higher quality product as well compared to other pretend play kits available. Can't compliment this set enough!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have three girls, who are 7, 5, and 3. All three of them loved playing with the bake shop. So much so that they fought each other on who was the baker next. I initially showed them what each item was and what they could do. One thing my 3yo loved to do was give me the order sheet so I could pick out what kind of cupcake I wanted. The majority of the items including the main bake shop itself is wooden, cloth with stuffing, some are felt and a plastic bag for specific bakery items. The plastic pastry bag is pretty small so even the rolls are a tight fit in there. I feel like that's pretty much useless. The whisks for the mixing bowl are hard to take out for my girls. It's pretty snug so they ask for my help to switch them out. There is a cardboard takeout box that my girls already got one side unglued so it doesn't stick as a box now. A typical casualty. Besides the cardboard box everything else is pretty sturdy and should be able to withstand a typical play time. Overall, they love playing with it and that's all I ask for.

I have three little children ages five, three, and 20 months. All three of them absolutely loved this set. My three-year-old is on the Spectrum and is very sensory and he loved the velcro portions on the cupcakes. One of the things I appreciate the most about Melissa and Doug products is that they're made of good quality materials. He also likes putting things in his mouth and often chews on his toys, resulting in him breaking them and occasionally getting wood chips in his mouth. Never once has that happened with Melissa and Doug products. My 5-year-old loved pretending that he opened his own Bakery and was selling us products. My 20-month-old favored the fake register with the etch and sketch type of screen. Bonus points for the fact that it came already assembled. What more could a mom ask for.

Love that she can interchange the toppings in the cupcakes and cookies, and roll the croissants and cinnamon rolls

We own a couple Melissa and Doug toys and our girls absolutely love playing pretend with them! This bakery has everything you could think of and more. From the mixer with attachments, a menu, a variety of bake goods and even a table for checking out the order. My girls were so excited to play with this, they could hardly contain their excitement. I would highly recommend this to friends and family and anyone who knows a little/ young one who loves to pretend and bake.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids were so excited when this came in the mail. My 10, 6, and 3 year old immediately had to inbox and set it up. They played for hours with it! As well as my 9 year old niece and 4 year old nephew. It is made very well and has new "technology" like a credit card and card reader which is nice. I love that it can help kids use their imagination. Imaginative play is so important and this toy is a great one for that. I do wish it was a bit taller or maybe we should just put it up on a table next time.

As soon as I took it out of the box (there is absolutely minimal setup required), my kids aged 4 and 6 got right to work. There are different attachments for the stand mixer (a whisk and a dough hook) for the kids to "make" different bakery items. There are cinnamon rolls and a croissant to roll up, with hook-and-loop attachments to keep them securely rolled. There are different toppings to put on the cupcakes and cookies, a cash register... the possibilities are endless when you add imagination into the mix. I love that the set is made out of wood, and is durable to withstand little hands and a bit of rough play.

Has a serving tray with four take apart patisserie. Two cinnamon rolls and a Croissant. A mixer for mixing a cake mix and many other items. My children love baking for my husband and I with this set. Hour of pretend play. I really like that it's made of nice study wood and has very detailed paint. Worth every penny knowing the quality is great and the set will last a long time.

My 6 year old and my 3 year old were so engrossed in playing, that I had to check on them over the multiple hours that they played and make sure they were still there. The various accessories allow for them to play multiple roles and try different things. They love the mixer and making the cinnamon buns and croissants, it makes them feel like they are really creating treats. The only part my children argue over is who gets to run the checkout each time. Get this is you are in need of some quiet time but can't send the kids out.

When I first opened the box he was so excited to make cupcakes for mom! I like that this toy does not have any annoying sounds, no clicking when you turn the oven "on" etc. it's a great imaginative toy
