Melissa & Doug Classic Wooden Christmas Nativity Set With 4-Piece Stable and 11 Wooden Figures

Nice quality, but the pieces fall over so easily. As other reviewers have stated, one little bump of the table and the people topple over with a loud crash. My kids like playing with the set, but something should have been done to widen the base on each piece so it’s stable standing up.

I purchased this nativity set today for my grandson. When putting it together, the roofing piece does not fit into the side pieces of the manger. The cutouts for the tabs are not lined up correctly. Very disappointing.

It would be helpful to have a top piece to cover the pieces. The picture shows the people/animals fitting in the base but what about the roof & sides? A sequential video would be helpful. How in the world do you get all the pieces back in the base flush with sides?

Looked like a nice solid set.... within one week (and not that much play) a lot of the paint was scratched off and one of the walls of the manger was cracked. My child was not crazy destructive with it. I understand there will be wear, but there should not be so much wear after a week of light play. Very disappointed. Will not be purchasing this brand again.

We are using the set to tell the Nativity story. 2 things that would be great are: 1) make the stable roof flat or provide a place for the angel. My son keeps trying to put the angel on top. 2) Create an add-on set with cattle, sheep, and donkeys. I would be willing to buy the extra pieces. Other than those 2 things, we are pleased with our purchase.

I bought this for my 3 year old Grandaughter. Her mother and I love it. Now she can play with it during the Christmas season without worrying about it breaking.

I looked long and hard for a Nativity scene that was colorful, sturdy, and realistic-looking. This one is perfect! Young children can play with it, learn through it, and it's indestructible. I highly recommend this! The characters and stable are beautifully made!

Very sturdy wooden Nativity figures. Stable is easy to put together but not nearly as sturdy as the wooden figures. Nice for all the little ones to play with and explore. Disappointed that the characters are only painted on one side except for baby Jesus. Would have given 5 stars if the characters were painted on both sides.

This is a nice, sturdy Nativity scene with solod stable and figures. The double-painted crib is a nice touch. The main problem with the set is that all of the other figures are only painted on one side, which really limits how you set up the scene. E.g. the Magi on the camel can only go on the left hand side and Joseph can only go on the right. Painting the figure on both sides would really give the kids more about to set up the scenes in different ways by flipping a figure so it faces the other way and could be placed on the opposite side than currently. Currently, it's a bit weird to have the Magi approaching over the run-up to Christmas with two of them looking in opposite directions.

My grandchildren are enjoying the Nativity set. They are 4 years and 18 months.

Several people complained about wobbly figures. I'll bet a little ball of play dough sqashed under them would be enough to steady them. My own disappointment was because I had the impression that both sides had the figures on them so you can use them right or left. Otherwise typical Melissa and Doug excellent product.

I will be returning this item. The roof does not assemble properly. The figures fall over which easily frustrates some children. I've attached a photo of the roof to clearly display the incorrect placement of the roof holes. Because of this the back of the stable cannot slide on. Better quality assurance on items would be advised. Get kids to play with them first.

I bought this for my 2 year old granddaughter. The roof of the stable is hard to attach and the figures easily fall over. It would help if the depth of the base of the figures was wider. Just a little bump of the table and they fall over. The nativity is really cute but I wish it was sturdier for the price.

We were looking for a Nativity for my daughter to teach her the meaning of Christmas that is the birth of Jesus

First time I put this together with my 3 year old granddaughter but then she could use it herself. The pieces enabled to give her a simple version of the story of the birth of Jesus so completely met my goals. It is very easy to store in the box and will see many years of use. Thanks so much.

Cute idea, limited display abilities. This is a nice set. The manger set up is thin and or arrived scratched. We have difficulty making the roof piece fit. The figurines are realistic. My biggest complaint is that you cannot actually put it under the tree because the figurines will fall over if you try to put them on your tree skirt.

Gave my two grandchildren this pre-Christmas gift. They have been playing with it ever since. The six year old told me he put the stable together all by himself.
