A: It's a megaphone and it's my grandson's favorite part. He yells into it all of the time, "Evacuate, evacuate". It needed batteries but I'm pretty sure it was to make an alert sound not to amplify the speaking.

Our 3yo loves to pretend to be a fireman, and he needed a Halloween costume for this year, so we decided this would do the trick. We didn’t want to buy a costume he’d wear once for the holiday but never again, and we definitely think this will get used a lot. He put it on as soon as the package arrived and then napped in the jacket later that day. He also already wore it to a family function. The accessories are great and add to the fun.

My 3 year old loves playing dress up and this outfit is one of his favorite. It is very well made and exactly what I would expect from the M&D brand. Only thing is I wish it would have actual pockets to hold the megaphone and extinguisher instead of the Velcro straps because they are too heavy and keep falling out.
