Men's Adaptive Seated Fit Ultra Soft Fleece Hoodie - Goodfellow & Co™

I am a small female and like larger and longer zip hoodies. I saw this in the men’s section and tried it on. Great fit! I like the side slits, the uneven hem. It looked flattering on me. The pockets are open meaning if you put anything inside, it’ll fall out the other side. I decided I’ll just sew it closed. I came home to research the item and am reading that it’s made for wheelchair friendly/sick people. It melts my heart target thought to be inclusive in that sense. My dad recovered from cancer earlier this year and it was very difficult, he was also wheelchair bound and had a catheter. I’m glad target is out there thinking about these people. 🥺🥺🥺

ATTENTION 1 star reviewers—except those mentioning non-flat seams—I have a life hack for you! Before you buy something, read the description and look at the pictures, it’ll save you a lot of time and frustration. All snark aside, this sweatshirt is very clearly labeled “adaptive” (aka for people with disabilities) and “seated fit” (for people in wheelchairs or who spend most of their time sitting). In fact, those terms come before fleece or hoodie in the title, so I’m amazed so many people missed them. Many places throughout the description mention the adaptive features, and the photo also shows the uneven hem clearly. Snark no longer aside, because I’m tired of adaptive items getting dragged by oblivious able-bodied people who can’t bother to read and who think the whole world should cater to only them. Here’s another tip: disabled people exist, and also need to wear clothes. Our needs may be different than yours, but those needs are not “bad”, “obscene”, “weird”, “strange”, “horrible”, or “awful”. They’re just not YOUR needs, and that’s ok! People with disabilities are actually a pretty large segment of the population (about 25%!) and deserve clothing made specifically with our needs in mind. Not everything in the world needs to be designed for able-bodied people. Things can be both good products, and not right for you. Oh, and since I’m feeling generous, I’ll give you yet another tip. If you don’t understand a word, like “adaptive” for instance, quickly look it up. It’ll broaden your vocabulary and also perhaps your world view, while saving you from buying the wrong item or making a fool of yourself in the review section. iPhones make it super easy to do. Just select (double tap) the word in question and in the options that pop up above it choose “look up”. Ta-da! It’ll give you the definition, some links, and the ability to search the web for more information. In all honesty it’s a super useful feature that I use all the time. I’d bet other phones have similar features too. Disclaimer: The above review is written by an actual wheelchair user with dexterity issues. I am physically disabled but my functional limitations are often due to a world that’s not designed with people like me in mind. When the few (gloriously affordable) items available from mainstream retailers are continuously down rated by people who are not the intended audience it makes me angry. I’m guessing that anger comes through in this review. Bad reviews impact the store’s sales of those items and therefore they impact the store’s decision making about whether to make fewer/more/no adaptive products. Almost every adaptive item Target sells has a low overall rating due to able-bodied people not understanding what adaptive means and then getting mad about what a weird and awful design the item has. This is harmful to disabled people and I’m tired of it, hence the attitude. I can’t bring myself to be nice to people who don’t acknowledge my existence and know so little about disabilities that the word adaptive is foreign to them. I hope, despite my obvious anger about this issue, someone might learn something from what I’ve said. THANK YOU TARGET for making adaptive products!! And thank you for not charging a premium! Please keep it up, it is SO needed!

Read the description before you buy an item. This is designed for wheelchair users. Stop complaining because you didn’t bother to read.

It was XL and was still too small for a hoodie.

These are not regular hoodies as shown in the picture. They have a big split down the side and the back is longer than the front, very weird design. I returned the hoodie back to target.

I selected large because I fit large but unfortunately the sweater is somehow too small yet saying "large" on the inside". Plus the pockets are designed horribly. The pockets have a little sticky handle to keep it closed but then they can't fit my phone or anything in it, then from the inside I noticed that there's a huge opening on both of the pockets which is weird to be cause why would I wear a sweater that has it's pockets open from the inside & the outside, things will fall out & I won't know it because it's happening in the inside of the sweater while I'm wearing it meaning I wouldn't be able to see that. So I was just very disappointed with this awful sweater. Bad quality & bad design. But that's just my opinion.

It's soft. My dad likes it a lot. Says he never wants to take it off.

I like how warm it is. Fits perfectly also.

I have to buy a new goodfellow jacket a couple times a year because I wear a hole in the pockets at work. I was willing to put up with it because the pockets were the perfect shape and size. This year Target figured out a solution to this problem by purposefully putting holes in them from the start. Now I won't be buying any new goodfellow jackets. Problem solved!

This split front and back thing is obscene. I've bought Goodfellow hoodies before and they were not like this. They shouldn't be like this. Why would anyone want it to be this way? Also it's running small now. This is the snuggest XL sweatshirt I've ever had, it feels like a L. Also, the velcro pockets. No. Stop changing things to make them worse.

The waistband is split and the front hem is high and the back hem is low. This is a very strange design especially for a man’s jacket

Fits small and length in the back is long but front is so short way to short!

Front side is not the same length with back side.

Very well made, nice weight and super comfortable.

Do not buy!!! It’s supper short and the sides being cut makes it look very wired

Purchased one in Black. Could not see that that the back hem is longer than the front and the hem is split on both sides. Never saw a hoodie made like that, don't know why anyone would knowingly purchase it. DO NOT BUY!

The whole design is awful

The seams running the length of the sleeves and the seams running from the hip to armpit are not flat. This shouldn’t be advertised as having flat seams. The only flat seam is around the armpit/shoulder opening into the sleeve. ALSO the pockets have Velcro to pinch them closed that ends up rubbing against your wrists if you keep them in the pockets. I’ve removed unpicked them so it doesn’t hurt to use the pockets.
