Q: Will the Timex Ironman Classic T5K821JT handle leap year correctly? My current Timex Ironman can not have the day of the week and the date be accurate at the same time (one or the other)
submitted by JJ - 1 year ago
A: Thank you for contacting us. Changing the day and date in leap years and at the end of a month that doesn't have 31 days has to be manually set. Here's a direct link to the manual as a guide to the watch's settings: https://timex.com/cdn/shop/files/W-209.pdf?v=9593634294757839500. Q: Is this the same as Timex Unisex Ironman Classic 30 34mm Watch? If not, which model is newer?
submitted by Vaseline question - 1 year ago
A: Thank you for your inquiry. The IRONMAN Classic 30 Full-Size Resin Strap Watch (T5K821) introduced in 2014 is a different style from the IRONMAN Classic 30 Mid-Size Resin Strap Watch (T5E961) launched in 2005.

Q: Can the band on this watch be changed if it breaks, or does the entire watch need to be sent to Timex for replacement? The watch I have now has to be replaced by shipping the whole thing to Timex. I'd like to avoid that.

A: Hi there! Thanks for the question. This watch style T5K821 has replaceable straps and you can go directly to Timex website to order the strap. Kindly call our Customer Service team at 800-448-4639 or send us an email at custserv@timex.com should you need assistance or for any other clarifications about this inquiry.
I purchased this watch to replace one I received as a gift approximately three years ago. The "Start / Split" button on the one being replaced began to "bounce" a few months ago, registering two or three laps on occasion, instead of a single lap: the additional laps usually were only a few hundredths of a second. This behavior annoyed me enough that I decided to replace it with another Timex Ironman 30-Lap watch. So far the buttons on the new watch, especially the "Start / Split" button, have a nice look and feel, and no electrical "bouncing" causing multiple laps to register. I have had good luck with the Timex brand of sport watches, which I have used for a few decades. Presuming that this new one will last a few years, I'll likely replace it with yet another Timex, which I consider a good product for the price.
