Boots do not survive severe floods when performing land navigation. If you obtain boots that will be exposed to flooded areas, make sure they are not steel toe.

    Barefoot boot?

6 years, thousand of miles up mountains, across creeks and downs swamps, half the time used in construction as a work boot finally here I am buying a new pair of maybe the best boots ever made because I wore the soles flat. I let you in on a secret: if you size down 1/2 size remove the factory insoles for say install a senco flat insole these things will mold to your feet like no others a provide you with very little drop if any while still retaining some protection (shank and super picture resistant vibrancy outsole). The boots are super sturdy but still very flexible, the combo of materials is very well executed. My old pair still stands up! The toe box is wide but hugs the outside of your big toe so make sure the ball of your foot is not much further than the last eyelet. There is a slight curve in the sole that somewhat marks the spot. The heel is super solid and the boot itself provides a ton of ankle protection the upper above the ankle is mostly denier and is heavily padded and does get hot but draws moisture out efficiently. The eyelet are ok, they are somewhat loose, they like to spin after a few months and will trash your laces in a short minute. I “crimp” them up and they stopped spinning eventually but a standard round eyelet would be better in my opinion.

I’ve had mine for a 2 years and they’re just now tearing up. I wear them everyday and for every. ruck. I’ve done two 25mile rucks, three 12 mile rucks, and too many 4-6 mile rucks to count. They keep my feet dry for the most part. I’m stationed at fort drum, NY where the winters are hectic. I still wear these during winter months unless I’m going to the field.

    Needs ankle support

I bought about 3 weeks ago broke them in and they have no ankle support what so ever they could use ankle support no doubt about it. I was hoping they'd be a little better since I bought my last pair about 4 yrs ago but they haven't changed a bit but they need ankle support I know they're for mountainous terrain and all but that's how I figured it out with the first pair and second pair.

THEY RUN SMALL-THEY RUN SMALL-THEY RUN SMALL

I wore size 9 Bates Combat boots for 4 years. I wore Size 9 Timberland Boots for one year. I am size 9. These Rocky's don't run small in the heel, or the width, or even the top of the toe box. The problem is in the curvature of the toe box by the big toe. While breaking them in I got ingrown toenails on both of my big toes. They seemed to fit so I took care of my toe, let them heal up, and finished breaking the boots. I hoped that this would not be an issue once they were broken in. Then I wore them hiking, and I still noticed the corner of my big toes getting irritated. When I contacted customer support about exchanging for a half size up because of this issue, I was offered a coupon code if I wanted to buy another pair of boots from them. If you buy these, be prepared to make a judgment on the fit before you "wear them outside." Try it on like glass slipper to make a judgment if fits as combat.

I have used other tactical boots but the difference between the Rocky quality was obvious the second I put them on! The support/weight/durability is a perfect balance, the boot doesn’t weigh you down but at the end of the day your feet still feel great! These things can take a beating so your feet don’t have to! Do yourself a favor and get yourself a pair!

I bought this boot “about a week ago” for military use. Currently on a ship and needed and good boot for traction, however, I’m currently training for SF, so I needed a boot to run in and hold up to the torture of that. This boot is perfect. Light weight, sturdy, good traction, and feels good too. Also, runs true to size
