    Insufficient ankle support

Relatively comfortable boot, but ankle support is compromised since my size (13 W) has an excessively large upper ankle circumference which does not allow for proper tightening. In other words, the upper parts of the enclosure touch other each before completely tightening which means insufficient support.

I found a pair of these at a thrift store, and absolutely loved them. 4ish years later, they finally wore out, so I bought a new pair. I Love Them. The ties aren’t my favorite other than that, definitely recommend them.

Granted these are the only combat boots I can currently find that are size 18. I love these. My feet never hurt from wearing these too long. Great job for accommodating the soldiers with large feet.

Best pair of boots you can get

bought these boots when I was in the army and have put more miles and abuse on them than I could imagine them withstanding. They still are holding up, albeit I will need to get a new pair in the next few months, but compared to every other boot I have tried these are the most comfortable and durable of them all. Worth their weight in gold and are the only ones I will buy.

I purchased this boot about a month ago. The boots run small, mostly in width. You may be returning the boot to get your same size in wide. Another issue is the tongue. They really skimp on the materials here in that the tongue is not wide enough Leaving the edges visible. Additionally, the tongue is not properly centered when sewn to the boot. it really looks tacky. I had three pairs in the process of exchanging the boots. They were all like this,. I would keep looking, possibly for a different brand.

    I've purchased 3 pairs of s2v boots. :(

I've purchased 3 pairs of these boots in the last year. 1 pair of 9w that was way oversized and had a defect over the left ankle bone area of the boot. I ordered a second pair of 8.5 w that the right boot was way to tight. With a defect in the right boot. I ended up with another pair of 9w that has a defect in the right boot across the top of the foot that makes the boot to tight even untied. It's almost like the foot last has changed the current foot last is smaller than the original pair I bought over a year ago. There is no consistency in the construction of these boots. It's going to keep me from buying other products.

    Can’t Wait

I had the original S2V back when in the army 12 years ago and they were one of the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. I enjoyed the flat footbed (some manufacturers have a raised heel) which made the boots feel more secure and less likely to roll my ankle which I’ve done numerous times in classic style military boots. The only gripe I had with the original is that the tread wore out on concrete fairly quickly. I can’t wait to break these in and take them out for a hike. Putting these on again is going to bring back some good memories.

Good but not recommended on smooth surfaces

Had these boots for two years, light use. They are snug and comfortable but they have no traction! I was in the hangar, slipped and fell on a wet surface (the floor is painted). Pilots wearing the same boot complain that they have no traction while they are working around the aircraft if the surfaces are wet. These may be great outdoor boots but watch out when you're inside. Traction is not good which becomes obvious when you look at the tread pattern on the sole.

    QUALITY CONTROL

"This was my first pair of Rocky S2Vs and the moment I put them on, it felt as though I was stepping into a spacecraft. The secure, snug fit coupled with the boot's unique sole design made walking on an incline feel effortless, as if my feet were locked into the earth for a solid and stable footing. A 5-mile hike had me fall in love with these boots. However, my admiration was slightly dampened when I noticed an inconsistency in the inner lining of the boots – the stitching was asymmetrical and it appeared rather awkward. Additionally, the nylon tongue of the boot wasn't wide enough even I choose the WIDE version . This could be because my feet are wider than average, but it resulted in the middle section of the nylon frequently slipping out."

I have had these boots for 2 years now, they have held up great and are super comfortable. I am on a ship and underway we have to wear those terrible black boots, but in port I wear these and love them and appreciate how comfortable they are every day. They are also very easy to move in, I have ran and jumped around a bit and it’s like wearing sneakers, unlike other boots.

I have been wearing these boots for a week and they have required no break in. I have a lot of experience with many different brand of boots in various industries (Military, Fire and public safety) manufactured by White's and Hawthorn to Danner, Keen etc. and all these boots are great boots but there are some key reason I choose Rocky S2V and with high hopes. First off they are made in America (very important to me {hints why I wear White's}). Other manufactures are starting to send their boots that I wore and really liked in the past to other countries which take away American jobs and cause us as a society to become more reliant on foreign goods and slave labor. The average work boot made in America is a very tough logger style with a big heal. They take a long time to break in and if not laced properly can bite your feet an shins throughout your work day. They can be very hard on your hips and back and over time cause trips to the chiropractor and Dr. They are great in the mountains in steep terrain but not practical for day to day operations. These boots are the perfect hybrid between a tough hiker and a medium duty work boot. They are stitched at the sole and the soles are Vibram. These soles also have very good grip and is very level which keeps your body aligned and prevents injury. These boots also allow your foot to breath where solid leather loggers do not. Most importantly I feel they look very professional. Recommendations: Double stich the sole, provide a boot lacing guide so that individuals will know how to lace them properly (yes lacing boots the right way matter) to maximize comfort. Provide cleaning instructions (prolong life of boot) Stop trying to advertise these as just a combat boots. These boots are very versatile and have plenty of applications in the private sector and for outdoors. Provide leather laces. No matter what keep making them in America and source as much of the material from America as possible. Lets keep our business here in our wonderful country.
