I bought this beast a few months agobut never unleashed it until a few days ago. This beast cut through wood and nails like butter on half speed w/o the orbital function on.Others talk the talk but this Metabo walks the walk. Awesome MAN tool, way to go green!!!

Option to turn oscillating feature on and off is nice as well. Only con is that it is a bit big and heavy for some tasks. Looking to add the new 18v compact brushless reciprocating saw as well to complement this big one.

Very impressed with the power of this saw! Cuts through wood and metal with ease! Is a bit heavy to work with for a long time period. Battery last a long time before a charge is needed! Impressive!

This saw has power that just does not end. I have used it on metal, wood and plastic and kit just keeps going through everything! I like the two saw options and rafter hanger. Great addition to your tool kit...

Doing demo sometimes means working in a house without power so this is ideal. It’s more comfortable to hold than my other one and with 36v it has plenty of power. Plus it’s super handy if your mom asks you to prune trees in different parts of her yard and you haven’t been maintaining your chainsaw like you should have.

As a handyman, I’ve had the chance to put the Metabo HPT 36V MultiVolt™ Cordless Brushless Reciprocating Saw Kit through its paces, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best tools I’ve ever used. When paired with a Diablo Carbide blade, this saw made quick work of removing 80-year-old cast iron pipes – it was impressive. I can see why people call it "Godzilla" because this tool is a beast. Even before other brands jumped into the 40V space, the CR36DA was the king, and it still performs at the top level. After using it for about 2 years, I can say without a doubt that it’s the fastest and most powerful reciprocating saw I’ve ever used. It cuts through just about anything, and it's my go-to for demo work, including removing a roof. The speed settings are really useful when cutting through different materials, and the adjustable shoe has made my cuts more precise without the hassle of switching out blades constantly. I especially like the orbital mode, which cuts through wood much faster, making tough jobs a lot easier. The rafter hook is a great touch, especially for framers who need to keep tools close while working. One feature I really appreciate is the AC adapter. It’s a solid backup option when you’ve drained your batteries or forgot to recharge them. Having that extra power source is reassuring when you're in the middle of a job. The fact that all the 36V tools can be paired with the MultiVolt wall adapter is also a great convenience. The kit I received came with a curved wood blade to get started, but if you want top performance, I’d recommend grabbing some Diablo blades – they really make a difference. While this tool is fantastic, there are a couple of small improvements I’d suggest for the next iteration. A more user-friendly mechanism for removing the blade would be great, as well as a blade guard similar to the one on the Teal brand. A quick-eject feature would also be a nice addition to make blade swaps even easier. The UVP (User Vibration Protection) system is another standout feature for me. After dealing with shoulder and neck injuries, this saw’s vibration reduction has been a lifesaver. I can work all day with minimal fatigue, which is something I haven’t been able to say about other saws in the past. This saw has even replaced my chainsaw for delimbing trees and pruning. It’s versatile, powerful, and truly built for the professional. Overall, the Metabo HPT CR36DA is a feature-rich, high-performance tool that has exceeded my expectations. If you’re looking for a reciprocating saw that can handle tough jobs, offer speed, power, and comfort, look no further. It’s definitely one of the best tools on the market today.

I purchased this saw as a secondary saw but this saw is so heavy duty that I have been using it instead of original saw that I own. Great product and it is a beast. Just the way I like my tools.

I first used this for deck demo where it effortlessly took down anything in it's path. I've also gotten it dirty building my deer stand. Nothing will stop this beast!

This is definitely a beast of a reciprocating saw. It performs just as good as any corded saw I've ever used. It has great features and the blades are quick and easy to change. It is on the heavy side but that makes cutting even easier with less vibration and you can actually use the weight to your advantage. The battery life is impressive and I could definitely recommend this saw.

It has very low vibration which makes it the only saw I will use. It has really good power also seems to cut through anything even if the blade is dull!

Owned this tool for about 3-4 months or so and it is a power house puts all out other recip saws to shame also fits 1/8"thick recip saw blades like a glove great for demolition jobs

This recip saw is a monster. It can hang with Milwaukees best offering. To be frank, it does so with more comfort and stability. If you run power tools all day you know ergos are just as important as the power of the tool. The speed settings are great when cutting through various mediums. Adjustable shoe, rafter hook ( for you framers out there), oscillating mode marginally cuts lumber faster. Great tool feature rich

I am very happy with the 36v reciprocating Saw. I have the Dewalt reciprocating Saw and the metabo had more stability and better cut than the Dewalt. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a great deal.
