Awful rug

This rug had the worst chemical smell to it. Took weeks to air out, and I used every trick in the book. Now, we’ve had the rug for almost a year, vacuumed it dozens of times, and it still leaves a mess of material on our clothes whenever we get up from the floor. Like the material sheds or something. The fibers dig into our clothes and are a pain to clean off. I wish I’d returned this rug while I still could. The color was just what I wanted and I couldn’t find anything else, but now I’m stuck with a very expensive piece of crap. 100% do not recommend. Target has a ton of beautiful and nice rugs, many others in my house, but don’t get this one.

Please see below suggestions to deal with the rug smell. a. Air the rug out first in a clean, well-ventilated area, like a porch for a few days (a garage is not recommended unless the windows or the doors are open) b. Turn on the air conditioner or place fans within the space where the carpet is located and keep the windows and doors open. This way will help enhance the flow of air in and out of the space. c. If you have an air-ventilation system (ducts that exchange indoor for outdoor air) keep this running for at least 48 hours after the rug is installed. You can run it for more if the odor is still present. d. Vacuum the rug

The color an desgin is nice, but the smell is awful! Fills the whole house. Hopefully it goes away soon or will have to return.
