A: I bought one last year and it doesn't shed
A: I just returned one today! Washed once and the shedding was so bad that it covered everything, including sticking to the sheets. We have 2 of these blankets that we bought last year and they were perfectly fine. Perhaps the vendor changed the fabric to a lower quality?
A: I bought one of these two days ago. My grandson picked it out for softness and color. I now have black fuzz all over my house. I will probably see if I can return it. Very disappointed.

A: Worst shedding blanket ever. Everything in my apartment is covered. Having an allergic reaction because I've b breathing in a mountain of synthetic fibers while I sleep. Whole face is red. Do not buy!

A: I bought this blanket recently and have tried to wash it as minimal as I can because it sheds so bad and it usually takes me over an hour to brush it and use a blanket shaver on it after washing. The piling is so bad no matter if I dry in cool air or warm air. I followed all instructions on how to wash it and it made no difference. I love the softness of this blanket, but it's just not worth the hour of work, and I mean work, to get it back to being soft and pile free. I will never buy this again.
A: I dont know why people are saying this sheds, I bought the coral one and Ive had it for a yr and a half and its never shed, it is however, SUPER soft and cozy, I highly recommend this blanket.
A: I washed it and dried it according to instructions. There was so much that came out that it was all over my lawn from the dryer duct. Have never been able to use it. It just sits in one of my rooms, should probably throw it away.
A: I purchased this blanket September 15, 2023 and I washed it according to the instructions. It pilled a horribly and I thought maybe after a couple other washings, still according to the label and instructions, that it would be better. It is not. I am disappointed that I bought two, the gray one and the pink one and both have fuzzes everywhere. I should not have to roll my blankets and roll everything they touch. On the positive side, the blankets are extremely soft and cozy and the king size one is generously sized.
A: It sheds a lot. Initially I thought it was just the gray color that i purchased but I returned it for a white with gray stripes and it sheds too. I have only had it a week and have washed it 4 times to see if that would stop the shedding. It didn't stop. A waste of money and time. The blanket is soft and very warm but sheds too much
A: This blanket sheds so terribly that I am having to get rid of the rest of my bedding because it is covered in purple fuzz from this blanket and there is no way to remove it all. I would never recommend this blanket.
A: This product sheds a lot. You can wash in cold water and use a cup of white vinegar in the rinse cycle and this will help prevent pilling. Also dryer balls help to stop static on the blanket. It is soft but I don't think I will buy one of these again.
A: I just bought this blanket, washed per instructions and now it’s completely ruined. Pills and balls of fluff all over it and it ruined my comforter with all of that mess. I paid cash and don’t have the receipt anymore and I’m so mad. It’s the WORST blanket ever made
A: You are so wrong target team member....I have several of these..years ago they apparently were made better because now within the last couple years they really do shed !!!!

A: I purchased one today and washed it before using. There were no problems with shedding. I washed it by itself so it could float freely and dried it in the dryer until it was slightly damp. I don't know if that made a difference or if they have changed the vendor/manufacturing process. I'm thrilled because it is so incredibly soft!
A: I’ve bought at least 10 of these blankets and they do not shed. I love them and am planning to buy more. They stay so soft and are a perfect weight for year round. Highly recommend.

A: I genuinely dont know why people are saying these shed?? I've had 4 of these for about 3 years now and all have been washed multiple times with no shedding in the slightest. I'm even pulling on the fabrics right now to try to get them to shed and I cant. Maybe the others are washing them a little to harshly.
A: This blanket sheds so much that I can not even use it. I have washed it three times in one week since receiving it as a gift and have brushed piles of piling off of it each time. It has not improved. The second you get it on the bed again you can see the pilings again. My comforter set, pillows and sheets become covered in it. It made them look like they were dirty with pilings all over them. This morning I even woke up with the pilings all over my leggings and tank top. I honestly wish it was not a gift because I would return it. It really sucks because it is perfect in every other aspect. Large, soft and the perfect weight. If you purchase this blanket you might as well buy some stock in 3M because you will be buying lint rollers like crazy. Stay away. Disappointed with the quality from a Threshold Target Brand product.
A: I’ve had multiple colors and none have shed!
A: Not everyone's color perception is the same, but I don't know why this one was labeled "hot coffee." Never mind the irrelevant "hot," it's not brown to my eyes, nor is it black. It's gray, just about the same as a young harbor seal's fur, and not the brown-black color of coffee.
A: I was just in a store today and it is really a toss-up between dark brown and dark grey. I think it can reflect either that you are trying to match. I don't know how they accomplished that but it's a rich color--I like it. Get it--if it isn't what you want just return it.
A: The "hot coffee" color is, in reality, a deep steely gray shade. It should have been called "metal" or "dove."
A: I just picked my blanket up and I can assure you that the hot coffee blanket is in fact not brown at all but rather dark gray. As the others who posted here stated, it’s a lovely blanket but disappointing to be misnamed entirely. Unless there is some gray coffee I am not aware of lol
A: I bought this last year, the color appears to be a shade of dark, dark gray, I too was disappointed it wasn't brown as the color coffee would be, but no one really sees in in my house but me, it's under my comforter
A: I ordered the "hot coffee" and online it looks brown (which is what I wanted). Got it in the mail and its a dark gray! Very disappointed.
A: The “hot coffee” color has nothing to do with brown. It’s dark gray, period. Was very disappointed. Try going back and forth on the item on the web page between “hot coffee” and “espresso”. The picture never changes. Both just a dark gray. And I’ve never seen dark gray coffee and hope I never do. Back these go.

A: It is dark grey. If you really want to stretch your imagination you could try to call it a very cool dark brown. If someone served me coffee or espresso this color I would wonder what was wrong with it.
A: When I scanned the dark grey blanket in the store on my target app it pulled up the espresso blanket. Not sure what’s going on but the blanket looks like a charcoal grey to me.
A: I bought it last week. Washed it the day I bought it, it now permanently looks dirty due to the shedding. Not only that, but the fleece side is uncomfortable after washing. I'm going to attempt to return it, if I can't it's going in the trash.
A: I am retracting my negative review. The problem with the blanket is that there are not clear instructions on how to wash, other than cold water and low dry. It should include what not to do, such as: no heat at all, no fabric softener, you can place in the dryer but for only about 15 min, or air dry. this is what the manufacturer should have included. So many of us are in a rush to do laundry with busy schedules that we just take a short cut, with this blanket there are definitely no shortcuts. I have two, washed both, one dried first a was a mess, because I did not realize all the rules involving a plush fabric. Someone else on this feed mentioned all the don'ts which really helped. A: I bought two of these this week and I'll be returning them tomorrow because they shed and pil so horribly! I've washed them 3 times and used anti static sheets in the dryer and they are still a mess. In addition to shedding and pilling, the fabric threads rub off on any clothing which comes into contact with them. These should not be available for sale since after washing they shed and don't look good.

A: I got one for Christmas and after I washed it with fabric softener on medium I swear I only got shedding. It was horrible. I just bought a gray one and I’m hoping that that works out better not really sure. Does anybody know if you’re supposed to use fabric softener with these? Please advise. I’m hoping that this one goes better. Fingers crossed..
A: Hi, Just commenting on a previous answer, but PLEASE DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTENER OR DRYER SHEETS on fleece EVER!!! That, along with heat, will ruin it and make it pill and mat-down and look and feel awful really quick. Heat and fabric softener/dryer sheets are the enemy of fleece, not to mention it doesn't need to be "softened". Heat will loosen fibers and any type of fabric softener/dryer sheets will cause fibers to mat together, pill, and feel "dirty" or "coated".
A: Maybe try using a few dryer sheets (instead of just one?).
A: Wash it with cold water separately. DO NOT use the dryer, let it air dry or use the no heat setting. Use a lint roller as well. That should stop

A: The previous answers are very clear: heat and dryer sheets will destroy the blanket. You may machine wash on COLD. It is recommended that you AIR DRY the blanket, but you can machine dry on the lowest setting for 15 minutes and then remove it and let it finish drying outside the dryer if you must, but WITHOUT A DRYER SHEET.
