Midland GXT67 GMRS 5-Watt Walkie Talkie - GXT67 PRO

I want to 100% love this radio but the proprietary charging situation is kind of ridiculous for a radio released in 2024. Hey Midland I'd love a fast charge cradle yes, but also please include a USB-C port for the update, I don't want to have to buy multiple cradles as backups when I have a ton of USB-C cables. Range is great, UI is awesome, build quality is killer, just the lack of easy charging is unacceptable. I won't be taking these camping but they'll stay on the property for my kids.

This is a very well made radio. The audio quality is also excellent. I have a micro mobile in my Subaru Outback as well. The only thing I would recommend is that Midland make ALL of the published CTCSS codes available as I am unable to use a local repeater that uses 206.5.

As the editor of a vehicle-based adventure magazine, I travel a lot. My journeys take me on long stretches of pavement but also into backcountry settings that require communication in the event something doesn't go as planned. The GXT67 Pro from Midland is small enough to place in your cup holder (if you don't have a windshield mount or equivalent) but also large enough to navigate the unit's various functions including weather notifications. While I found the manual channel changing functionality not as intuitive initially as I had hoped, once I figured out how to manually navigate to a specific channel, the unit's usability became a breeze. While I might recommend a larger wattage unit that's permanently affixed inside your vehicle if you plan to spend regular and extended periods of time in the remote wild, I firmly believe the GXT67 Pro is an excellent option for those who don't want a permanent setup in their vehicle while also providing multi-use functionality while on foot or on two wheels. It's a quality unit I would recommend.

Robust and versatile radio that is easy to read, handle and operate. Massive battery capacity and all around well built and better yet repeater capable!! Wish the programming cable was included at this price point.

The NOOA weather reception is great. A lot better than my other radios. A better scan than my other radios. It scans only the 22 channels. My other radios scans around 100 channels. Have not tried or used the two way radio function. My cons: no FM stations, no light, charging cradle (dinosaur). Hard to say if the price is worth it. Jury is out.

Solid radio. This is no toy GMRS radio, great output, very good quality and built for rugged outdoor use.

The GXT 67Pro is by far the easiest GMRS radio I have used. MidlandUSA made the functions, display and features so easy to use. Setting up groups was an easy way for me to preprogram my different Jeep groups for my preset channels. I love the car charger it comes with. It snaps in the base and doesn’t fall out when wheeling. I will definitely be purchasing another radio and the data cable to open more channels.

Full 5 watts, waterproof & dust proof, noise cancelling Mic, long battery life, repeater capable, 50 channels of GMRS/FRS right out of the box with another 49 available with the optional PC interface that also allows you to custom name your channels with up to 8 characters. Rugged design, with a large display that fits nicely in your hand gives this radio more of a traditional look and feel. For those who use repeaters, it is both narrow and wide band capable although most repeaters are wide band. Ten NOAA weather channels with weather alert are a bonus but some of the more notable features are the 10 Groups with 143 Group Godes, Privacy Codes, CTCSS, DCS, VOX and so much more. The icing on the cake is the top-quality carry case that cradles the GXT67 Pro and accessories keeping them safe from loss and damage. Ok, so it’s loaded with features that everyone wants but how does it work. GREAT! The 5 watts gives much greater talk power than much of the competition. Distance when used in a vehicle compared to lower power units is double and hitting repeaters in the Phoenix Metro area has been easy. And while it is pricy compared to those clam shell packaged ones, it has the feel and features of a quality Ham walkie costing much more. You will find out quickly that it is well worth the cost based on quality, features and performance. The GXT67 Pro is truly a professional grade GMRS portable radio.

I’ve been using the GXT67 Pro for several weeks, and there’s a lot to like about the radio. The majority of my GMRS use is on repeaters, and I travel a lot, so the simplicity of the “Privacy Code” menu to enter repeater tones is great. I can program the radio for a repeater in seconds. And I appreciate that the radio does split tones for repeater use. Some other things that get a thumbs up: The ability to select between narrow and wideband, the handy lighted keypad, and IP67 rating. Overall, the GXT67 Pro is a very good do-it-all GMRS radio.

The stand-out feature of this repeater capable GMRS handheld is that it is actually user friendly. The menus and user interface are easy to understand and configure. Some other notable features: * "Split tone" capable for repeaters that have a different privacy code for input and output * Built-in ANC, automatic noise cancellation * USB-C and 12VDC socket recharging

The new handheld is a game changer. The fit and function of this radio is great. The radio provides the ability to work with repeaters which is a welcome addition. The screen is large enough to see and work with in any environment. The radio is my new go to when working in the outdoors. The radio sounds great and the controls feel great.

Got this a few weeks ago and it's quickly become my go-to handheld on the trail. It's the perfect high powered handheld when spotting and outside of the rig! Battery longevity has been fantastic. I'm heavy handed on my gear, so the rugged construction and the dust and water proof casing is essential for me. Intuitive to use and easy to read the screen! Another bullseye from Midland!

When I got the GXT67 Pro, I wasn't sure that a handheld could compete with a hardwired GMRS. They usually fall disappoint with an short range and even shorter battery life. The GXT67 Pro offers both long range (with a clear signal) and an impressive battery life. If you want the signal, clarity and reliability of a hardwired radio in a handheld form, GXT67 Pro is the way to go.

When the GXT67 Pro came out, I was excited for a larger format handheld that was both FRS and GMRS compatible, and dust/waterproof. I guide a lot of trips and do a lot of adventure content in the desert, and having a durable handheld with good battery life, means I don't have to worry about charging every night. This has become my go-to radio for when I am out of the rig. It is perfect for spotting, or for taking a short hike away from the group. The active noise cancellation is appreciated and the fact that it is repeater capable just extends the usefulness. I'm also excited to see the new group settings for my trips and the fact that it has both CTCSS and DCS privacy settings. The form factor is great, and it feels hefty in the hand, plus the large screen provides tons of information. If there is a drawback, it's that you need the base to recharge it, but Midland provides a durable carrying case, so thats not a big deal to bring it with you (plus the aforementioned multi-day battery life is appreciated). Other welcome features include things like "Silent Operation" mode, Vibrate Alert, and of course NOAA weather. In many ways, if you don't need massive output power, and the maximum handheld rating of 5 watts is sufficient, this is arguably the best all-around radio Midland offers. And if you do need big power, this is a fantastic supplement to the MXT575 50-watt radio. If you are on the fence don't be this radio is an awesome buy and I plan on getting a couple more.

Midland has a waterproof radio! It's not often there's a handheld radio that comes to market worth getting excited about and this GXT67 is the exception! We've run a few trips with two of these now and they are ideal for guests that don't have a base unit in their car. The overall design of the radio is just fantastic. Good size screen, loads of options and somewhat sleek. Also, we ran it for 3 days w/o recharging and still had battery power when we returned home.

I've been running around with this radio in Baja for the past month. It's done close to 3,000 miles with me and counting. About to do another 1,500 to Cabo and back. It's been on multiple boat trips and in the water several times. It's been a busy month! This is hands down the best handheld GMRS I've every hand my hands on. The quality of the build is obvious and the charging system that comes with it is great for throwing it in my truck. We run guided trips in Baja so communication with radios is very important to us.
