I’m writing this review hoping this product stays in production—it’s honestly one of the best I’ve used! The can and sprayer design are game-changers. Being able to start directly at the roots makes application so much easier, and the product sprays out evenly with no clumping. As for the actual product, it makes my hair soft, moisturized, and super manageable. It detangles well and has completely changed my two-strand twist routine—it's faster and smoother now. No flaking once dry, which is a huge plus! My only issue is the price vs. the bottle size. I wash my hair twice a week, so I go through it pretty quickly. But the results make it worth it. I use this along with the Mielle Organics Kalahari Melon & Aloe Vera Deep Hydration Curl Forming Glaze, as recommended, and the combo works perfectly. For reference, I have 4C hair, and this duo makes it so much easier to manage. I highly recommend this product—especially if you have tightly coiled or textured hair. It's a staple in my routine now!

It is a good shampoo. I do see myself using it. However in the past when I have used the other shampoo from this brand I’ve experienced hair loss. So really hoping this is better because I do love the oil!

It smells like aloe vera had a melon bang ending with this result. I'm not sure any other way to put it. All that said, after washing my hair, I towel dried a little, then applied and let sit on my hair 2 minutes. The rinse out took a while. When I finally reached rinse out rhapsody, the moisture of silky strands lay on my head. No, but really, hair has moisture, and my curl still bounces. It's not weighed down in the feel.

What I like most about it is that it’s more of a consistency like regular conditioner, just a bit thicker, which is so much better than other ones that is like a thick cream. The consistency being thinner makes it easier to spread through all the hair without it chunking up on one spot. The tub is a pretty decent size and will last me a long time. It’s gentle on the hair I even use it for my 7 year old and it makes our hair hair soft, but not heavy and over coated. I will definitely be buying this when I run out of this free sample. This is a great product and I own several other products by them.

I expected the spray to be a bit more liquid, but the creamy consistency is similar to other leave-in conditioners I’ve used. It didn’t bother me at all. I like how my hair feels after using it—soft and manageable. I’m still trying it out to see if it helps with long-term hydration, but so far, I’m happy with it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Mielle's Kalahari Melon & Aloe Deep Hydration Shampoo presents itself as a moisturizing cleanse, but be forewarned: if you're expecting a dense foam, prepare to be underwhelmed. This shampoo produces a light lather, which, while perhaps contributing to the promised hydration, left my scalp feeling less than thoroughly cleansed, even after repeating the wash cycle a couple of times. While my hair did emerge feeling undeniably soft to the touch, that sensation of scalp cleanliness, so crucial for a truly refreshed feeling, was noticeably absent. Although I haven't tested the complementary conditioner or styling products from Mielle’s Kalahari Melon and Aloe Vera line, I suspect this shampoo might function adequately, perhaps even optimally, as a standalone cleanser for those with normal to oily hair types. While my own hair is fine and color-treated with dry ends, this shampoo is explicitly marketed towards "Dry, Dehydrated" hair, therefore, the fact that it prioritizes hydration so heavily is not, in itself, a point of critique. Scent-wise, this shampoo is intensely fragranced, and my nose could discern little beyond an overwhelmingly sweet, fruity coconut aroma. Beyond the scent, the product's name and prominent use of Kalahari Melon (Citrullus vulgaris) imagery on its packaging also raise questions. This label and visual emphasis is puzzling given that the ingredient list only shows Citrullus lanatus (watermelon) seed oil. One can only speculate if the brand opted for "Kalahari Melon" for marketing purposes, perhaps deeming it more "exotic" or less burdened by potentially problematic historical associations than the more common red watermelon. Ultimately, Mielle's Hydration Shampoo seems to prioritize moisture over deep cleansing, making it a potentially good choice for those seeking intense hydration, but perhaps not for those prioritizing a truly clarified scalp or a strong cleansing action.

This is a very hydrating shampoo. My hair always feels soft to the touch after shampooing. I also love how clean and fresh my scalp feels after each use. Lathers really nice too!
