A: I had same issue and just figured it out. Remove the pink horizontal tab underneath and then it works by pressing the purple mickey button.

Very cute and my kids love it. Anyone who purchases should be aware though that there is a tiny piece on the bottom of the unit (flip it upside down to see it) that says “remove before play.” However, the writing is very hard to see and the piece is easy to miss. If you don’t remove that piece, the cash register won’t open and you will think that it’s defective. I’m not sure why there isn’t a big sticker that tells buyers to do that, but I wonder if that’s the reason for some of the reviews that say the register won’t open.

My daughter got this for her 2nd birthday and she loves it. I do wish the bills were plastic though because I imagine the will get crumbled and torn before long. Not a big deal though. I read a few reviews about the drawer not opening but pretty confident those people didn't remove the plastic piece from the bottom side :)

Our daughter loves her Minnie cash register. Super cute toy that makes lots of sounds, comes with little accessories too. Overall, it seems to be of good quality and looks really girly and fun. Ps: you have to remove a little safety piece from the bottom of the register in order for the drawer to open.

Very cute cash register. We had the hardest time figuring out how to open the register and realized there is a plastic piece you have to remove from the bottom. Batteries are included.

Drawer doesn’t open. Literally it’s the only thing my daughter wanted to do and the product doesn’t do it. Would take it back to target but it’s too much work. What a waste

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Minnie's Happy Helpers Bowtique Cash Register is a lot od fun! My youngest, who is 3, has taken with us everywhere we will let her. She loves the sounds and interactions and that it's Minnie, of course! It came with batteries, no assembly required. The only thing I wish was a little different is that the scanner does not make any sounds or light up, at least ours doesn't. It would definitely increase the fun if it did. Other than that this toy has been a great success, and every one else in our household has had the pleasure of "purchasing" something via the Minnie's Happy Helpers Bowtique Cash Register

My daughter was playing with it for the first time. Unfortunately, she dropped it and the toy came apart. I was able to pop the pieces back into place but the sound element is ruined.

She'll bring all the stuff back and sell all the items to me while pushing all the buttons like crazy. The set comes with bills, a credit card and some coins which has help me teach her about money. I wish they would fit better in the drawer so they won't get lost. Great toy for imaginative play!

My daughter loves Minnie Mouse she really in love with this cutest toy My daughter has been playing with this nonstop for about 2 weeks now. I highly recommend if you want to engage your child in something. It was the perfect addition to her play kitchen (diner style). It has also allowed me to teach her about money.
